A surprisingly bad game. Everything in the game lacks a description, maybe it was design choice maybe it was laziness. The game feels like it is balanced around having all the meta upgrades right from the start, which makes 80% of the upgrades feel useless and frustrating to get. The farming aspect of the game is just automated right at the beginning but you still have to wait on it to have currency to buy meta upgrades, honestly not sure why it is in the game at all (besides for the game being named after it). The game is just kind of a mess.4 found this helpful
Need ability to control music volume separately so I can turn it off. It's really nice, but after a few hours it's too much. Pretty luck based, which is fun but also annoying. Controller could use some work. Controller cursor is sometimes on a different monitor and moves slow coming back. Took me a while to realize this is what was happening, I thought the controller just wasn't working. Could use more info about what things do. Increase crit? How much? What do hauler drones do? How are they different from normal drones? They appear to do the exact same thing. "Increased storage / capacity" for what? Does this increase the materials you need to complete the level? That's a bad thing! What do the upgrades do? Increase damage? How much? Ship teleporter? What does that do? Really need tool tips. A few of the abilities you get seem very poor, so if you don't get the good ones you're going to struggle on a run. Great sound track and vibe, overall very fun.1 found this helpful
It's mid. The fun part is only the farm in your ship and having your own drone do the farming. If you want explanation for everything then this game isn't for you because tbh, I don't even know what tf I am doing and why and how are stuffs working. I don't know sht man, I don't understand, the game doesn't even try to let you understand sht. I only know that it's cheap af but I am getting my money back
Star Farmer, developed and published by Tinker Town, is a vibrant and unconventional roguelite that mixes the frantic energy of bullet-heaven combat with the gentler rhythms of farming and cosmic exploration. At first glance, the combination seems almost contradictory—how can a game about harvesting alien plants coexist with swarms of enemies and high-intensity action? Yet Star Farmer leans fully into this mixture, crafting an experience that feels both chaotic and cozy, both fast-paced and steadily rewarding. It is a game built around the idea of growth: growth of your farm, your warlock’s abilities, and your mastery of an ever-evolving galaxy filled with colorful landscapes, unusual flora, and unpredictable threats. The core gameplay loop is structured around short, escalating runs that take you from planet to planet, gathering resources and confronting waves of hostile creatures. Combat adheres to the bullet-heaven style—auto-firing weapons, relentless enemies, and a constant need for movement and positioning—but the game tempers this intensity with moments of calm as you harvest seeds and collect exotic plant specimens. These elements are not optional side activities; they fee…
⭐☆☆☆☆ (1.5/5) Star Farmer: Warlock of the Universe You know that feeling when you bite into a cookie that looks amazing, but it turns out to be made of sand and disappointment? That’s Star Farmer: Warlock of the Universe. The first 20 minutes? Genuinely fun. You’re doing new things, unlocking stuff, casting some cosmic spells, farming stardust or whatever—it almost tricks you into thinking there’s depth here. But then... nothing. The novelty drops off a cliff, and what’s left is an endless loop of repetitive tasks that feel less like gameplay and more like punishment. It’s like the game slowly forgets it’s supposed to be fun. Visually, it’s not doing itself any favors either. The graphics somehow manage to be both flat and cluttered—a rare combo. It’s like someone tried to draw a galaxy using clip art and a migraine. I was planning to go for 100% completion. Really, I was. But then I saw it would take over 10 hours and realized I value my time, sanity, and general will to live. Maybe I’ll finish it someday, out of sheer stubbornness or a need for closure. Or maybe I’ll just stare at a wall for ten hours instead. Honestly, that might be more exciting. In short: Star Farmer star…
