I have no idea how this game is rated so high. The UI is horrible with many elements overlapping making it impossible to actually read them when assembling your ship. When building the ship there is no indication of where the building zone ends. There are blocks that add the ability to build onto them and the only way to tell the build zone ends there is when there is no added green zone when you place one of them. The rounds are VERY short. basically 30 seconds to 1 minute of time and the round ends. I found there was a "endless" button but after i pressed it and played a few rounds with it on there was no change at all meaning the button did nothing. The game feels like a mobile game that was made for waiting in line to order something from a restaurant. just enough engagement to distract for a few minutes and then you put it down. when you play more than that you realize just how little there is to it.

Fun and ambitious, with a lot to do. The UI could use some polishing.

Initial gameplay review after a bit over half an hour is... Meh. I'm voting this a "Do Not Buy At Base Price" game. Some item descriptions read like "Engrish," graphics customization options include one to set the frame rate cap to 30 or 60 FPS which is absurdly low, trying to control the game with a controller and mouse apparently causes the game to constantly try switching between controller and MKB control schemes resulting in very stuttery movement when using your controller to move, between-wave ship customization doesn't seem as easy (or perhaps even possible) with a controller as it is with a mouse, there is no tutorial or manual, and when you open up the keyboard control list, *not* the keyboard customization window, my Options menu/window got stuck on it until I restarted the game. I'm also not terribly keen on how your ship auto-rotates to specific points based on how you move your analog stick in a "move stick to 9 o'clock, ship turns to 9 o'clock" fashion instead of "turn right while holding right." That doesn't feel right when you're moving around, turn your ship to avoid projectiles, and when you stop turning your ship your ship doesn't stop turning. All of that…

Solid gameplay loop. There a campaign mode where to farm money, materials, and there is a town mode where you use those resources to build your town. The RGN factor in building your ship keep it entertaining.

Starship Scramble by Kultras Entertainment is a chaotic roguelite shooter that revolves around one central idea: building your own ship while surviving increasingly overwhelming waves of enemies. It combines fast-paced action with modular customization, creating a gameplay loop that is both reactive and strategic. Rather than handing players a fixed loadout, the game encourages constant experimentation, turning each run into a new attempt at constructing the most effective and resilient starship possible. At the heart of the experience is the ship-building system, which gives players a wide range of weapons, modules, and upgrades to work with. As a run progresses, new components are added piece by piece, gradually transforming a basic ship into something far more complex. Some builds lean heavily into offensive power, filling the screen with projectiles, while others focus on survivability or mobility. This flexibility is one of the game’s strongest aspects, as it allows players to approach challenges in different ways and adapt their strategy based on what they acquire during a run. The satisfaction of finding a combination that works well together is a major part of what keeps t…

what a delightful little game. if you´re fan of vampire survivors and are starting to be fed up with all the mediocre clones, you´ll love this. there are loads of games who add their "unique" gimmick to the tried and true formular, thus ruining it. not so in this case this takes it to completely different levels and genuinely evolves the genre into it´s own thing. combining shipbuilding with a city builder in a bullet hell rogue like, sounds like it get´s muddled and overcomplicated. but this game keeps it simple yet expansive, you have 100s and hundreds of weapons and build options without ever overwhelming you with nonsense and half baked systems. and also it´s cheaper than than it has any right to be.
