[h1]Played On: [b]HTC Vive[/b][/h1] Steve's Pub - Soda on tap is a virtual reality version of the NES classic, Tapper. You pour drinks and shoot them down the long bar to your customers. Each patron wears a different colored shirt to signify which drink they'd like to have; blue, yellow, and red. There are multitudes of issues with the mechanics of this game, with the most irritating one being the inability to choose who gets their drinks first. If customer #1 comes in wearing a green shirt and stands at the opposite end of the bar, and then customer #2 comes in while also wearing a green shirt and stands closer to you, the drink automatically goes to customer #2; then customer #1 leaves unsatisfied and counts as a penalty against you. The "drink launcher" is also problematic, and actually landing drinks on the long bar takes a ton of practice and prayer. There are only two environments, and to be blunt the character models and textures are ugly. It's honestly just not fun, especially when compared to nearly every other bartending VR game on the market; with the exception of that god-awful alien bar monstrosity that's lurking out there somewhere. Steve's Pub - Soda on tap is a free VR game. It worked on my Index and HTC Vive system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Sort of like the arcade game Tapper in VR form. You have to get mugs, fill them with correct soda and launch them down the correct bartop to the customer with a colored shirt and satisfy them. Very hard game, Looks like it will get hectic. Controls are strange. Try it out, but there are better Bartending game in VR out there.

"Steve's Pub - Soda on tap" is a poorly made VR tech demo, a dumbed down attempt to make a bartending platespinner in VR. Why? Nobody knows. What do you do in the game? This is a really dumbed down platespinner game, you know the kind, like Cook, Serve, Delicious or any other mobile app restaurant game, you've got customers coming in and you have to wave your arms around in VR to throw drinks at them. That's all there is to this... just a pointless tech demo with no serious value as a game for gamers. It's VR exclusive, and that shows the developer failed to understand the most basic axiom of VR game design... if the only cool thing about your product is VR support, your product is not cool. The graphics and game assets are quite poor quality. Gaming is a visual medium. It's extremely difficult to recommend bad looking games, especially when there's no decent gameplay to compensate for the defective appearance. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else.
