✦ AI summary

Storm Tale is a polished, accessible match-3 game with appealing artwork and steady progression that works well for relaxed, stress-free gaming sessions. However, players consistently complain about aggressive monetization through gem purchases and power-ups, frustrating RNG-based reward systems, slow animations, and achievement design that heavily incentivizes spending rather than natural play progression.

{Dearest Achievement Hunters: This game will make you suffer for Achievements. Let me tell you one thing it does: Steam Achievements start at -1. Have you ever seen that? I haven't. So you have to work *extra extra extra* to get the same Achievements you can easily get in the game itself. Let's laugh. Sarcastically.) Urf. It starts out fine. You get some dialogue, artwork is nice, game pieces aren't slow af, you have upgrades. Then once you get your first power up... You notice something is off (it's possible you took a look at Achievements and saw that the hardest Achievements to get are the ones involving Powers Ups) -> Well.......... -> You GOTTA BUY POWER UPS! WITH GEMS. YES! Like in the MOBILE market of F2P! Okay, okay but wait... You can't really *buy* the gems... You can only get them via Quests or "Dailies". You barely get jack sheet of an amount. I got like 14 on Daily... And then the game said "no, screw you, here are two "Wind Power ups" instead. So no gems for me. ,,!,,) So let me give you this warning... If you *really* want to play this game:
Play on Relaxed Mode ONLY!!!
You will never have enough gems for any other …

Storm Tale developed and published by Green Sauce Games is a relaxed, story-driven match-3 title that builds its appeal around familiarity, accessibility, and a steady sense of progression. Rather than attempting to innovate within the genre, it focuses on delivering a polished and approachable experience, combining classic tile-matching gameplay with light world-building elements that give players a reason to keep moving forward beyond individual levels. The gameplay is rooted in traditional match-3 mechanics, where players swap adjacent tiles to create matches and fulfill objectives specific to each stage. These objectives gradually evolve, introducing new obstacles such as layered tiles, locked pieces, and environmental barriers that require more thoughtful planning. While the early levels are intentionally simple, the game slowly increases complexity by adding constraints like limited moves or more intricate board layouts. This creates a gentle learning curve that keeps the experience engaging without becoming overly demanding. A key aspect that distinguishes Storm Tale from more basic puzzle games is its integration of a rebuilding system. As players progress, they earn reso…

I bought this game years ago on Bigfish, but it won't run on my computer without making my graphics card work too hard, so I was glad to be able to get it on sale here on Steam and had a lot of fun playing it again. I always play in relaxed mode and don't like being pushed by a timer, but in order to do well in this game, I had to make a lot of moves quickly. I learned to recognize patterns faster by doing that. I think it's still an enjoyable game to play if you like match-3 games (which I do). The storyline is not much, but the voiceovers were well done. I wouldn't pay full price for it, but getting it on sale was worth it.

Good when you want to game and not stress with enough play time to be worth the buy

Great game -- love match 3 -- love medieval times ex. Kings + Queens. I have earned half of the achievements so far & I am starting to lose interest. Each day you earn power ups via a chest that opens & you pick a box which has gems or power ups. Gems are for shopping -- never bought anything. I am going to look for another fun game. Enjoyed playing but time to move on.

It's one of the best in this genre I've played so far. It's not easy or boring.
