About Strangers of the Power

In the great north lies the city of Serina. It is beautiful city, with a dark secret. For years, two witches have terrorized the city and taken over the castle within, with their dark magics. All attempts to slay them has failed. Only a true hero can answer the call of the people and stop the witches, once and for all. Then one day, a traveler arrives at the inn. Could they succeed where others have failed?

Characters

Gracie

Gracie is the mage. She's a good, kind girl who comes to help the people of Clearmill out of goodness of her heart. She's somewhat shy and innocent which is a total contrast to her friend follower, Edea.

Seraphine

Seraphine is a German warrior princess who's adventurer with her sidekick. She's somewhat serious but still a nice girl. She's the only character who can wear even the heaviest of armors.

Maiya

Maiya is a cheeky rogue girl, out to get fame and money. Unlike the other two main characters where the follower provides humor for the serious characters, Maiya herself is the joking type while her friend is more serious. Maiya is the hardest character to play but very rewarding once she gets going.

Minor characters

Edea

Edea is an elf fighter, but everyone just calls her Beans because she likes beans.

Francine

Francine is an adept magician who helps Seraphine. She has a crush on the German girl and tries her best to learn German to make her happy but sometimes mixes up words.

Sophie

Sophie is a serious fighter girl who's very protective of Maiya and loves her like little sister.

This game is promising, but unfortunately I cannot give a positive opinion. This game is only available in English, a simple Google translation will win players. The use of the "Esc" key would be a good point to pass the texts. The use of "0" to erase the text of the nicknames, is not practical. After 10 minutes of playing, I didn't feel like playing anymore. Notice to the developer, the base is good, but the dress is not seller.

This is such a short RPG that it actually should be a DEMO. It has so many good elements but there doesn't seem to be enough to fully enjoy those elements. Difficult to recommend but at the same time harsh to downvote.

Strangers of the Power, developed and published by Tuomo Laine under the Tuomo’s Games label, is a compact, retro-inspired turn-based RPG that embraces the traditions of classic 16-bit era adventures while presenting a focused and accessible fantasy quest. Built with clear affection for old-school dungeon crawlers and RPG Maker-style design, the game centers on a mystical northern city plagued by dark witches and corrupt magic. Rather than attempting to compete with sprawling modern role-playing epics, it narrows its ambitions to delivering a straightforward, character-driven journey built around exploration, party synergy, and traditional turn-based combat. One of the game’s defining features is its trio of playable heroines, each offering a slightly different approach to combat and progression. Players can choose between distinct protagonists who fill different tactical roles, ranging from frontline durability to magical offense or agile precision. Each heroine is paired with a companion, creating a small but meaningful party dynamic that shapes how battles unfold. These pairings subtly encourage experimentation; while the main storyline remains consistent, the feel of combat sh…

Fun little RPG game that allows you to tackle a multi level dungeon with different teams, short but entertaining. Pick it up if you enjoy turn based RPG maker titles with more of an emphasis on combat/strategizing rather than story or puzzles.

The one dungeon in this game is the exact same no matter who you play it as. The characters are like different flavors of water: you can tell the difference between each of them from moment to moment, but when trying to remember them, only one sticks out from the rest. The character design is fine, except during the one kiss in this game where the characters look flat as a sidewalk. The lack of a fast forward or skip feature for repeating text makes the game more drawn out. The menu and the way the fights are spaced feel more awkward than original or good. The incredibly short story comes off as rushed rather than compact. (seriously, what villain just decides to not only take up residence in a small as town but also not lock the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ door AND leave anyone necessary resources to reach them) This is simple game at a low price. If you want a game that like that, maybe you'll enjoy this one. From a completionist's perspective, this game is very lacking and too repetitive.
