Noob - The Factionless

I love Noob, but this game is really unbearable and I tried REALLY HARD to love it... WAY too many flaws; 4 years later still tons of bugs, extremely slow pace fights, absurd grind for the jobs as if it were a real MMORPG

The game looks nice in screenshots and videos, but the actual gameplay isn’t very good. There are many frustrating issues: - The interface doesn’t support mouse controls, forcing you to use awkward keys to navigate through complex menus, especially the skill trees. - You also can’t use the mouse while moving on the map, so you often don’t know where you’re heading or whether an encounter is coming. - Weapons and skills do not show expected damage, difficult to decide what skill to use - There’s no map for local areas, which makes navigation difficult. - No directions to next quest location causing them very difficult to find, making game slow and fights repetetive - It’s easy to leave an area unintentionally because transition zones aren’t highlighted. If you go back, the entire zone resets with all enemies. - You can only save at limited save points. If you fail a boss fight at the end of a dungeon, you have to repeat the whole dungeon again. - Grinding is very limited because of the level‑lock system that caps you at level 10/20/30… until you finish the corresponding level‑up dungeon. Noob is a charming game with a gorgeous, seemingly endless landscape that’s genuinely fun to explore. I loved being able to pick herbs, fish, and mine along the way — those little side activities make the world feel alive. The music is good (not great), but it fits the vibe well enough. Combat is where things start to wobble. Battles feel slow, and once the fight is over, I don’t need the long pause, the victory dance, and then the credits. The game gives you a lot of battle options, but if only one or two are actually useful, the rest end up feeling like fluff. One character hits all enemies with the same power, while the next can only hit one — the balance feels off. I don’t usually play online games, so the back‑and‑forth between the characters’ real lives and their in‑game lives was interesting and well done. But in the real‑life sections, I often had no idea where anything was. Wandering around for twenty minutes swearing at the screen isn’t my idea of fun. My biggest frustration is how formulaic the progression is. You can’t level more than ten levels per story arc. You can grind all you want, but once you hit that cap, you’re stuck. You’re forced into the exact difficulty…

Interesting game but the QoL Stuff of JRPGs are not there. Makes most of it tedious and slow. Also the Job leveling is slower than in some MMORPGs.
