About Stray Shot
This is a unique twin-stick arena shooter where your own actions define the difficulty. Shoot recklessly at the walls and you will drown in enemies, but shoot too little and you will have a mediocre score. Observe the different monsters's behaviours and be strategic in the way you fight them. The more monsters there are in the arena, the more points you get for each one defeated.
Unlock and play in 8 different arenas with their unique monsters, take on contract levels to defeat specific sets of monsters, unlock clan levels for monsters you've seen on each of their 5 evolutions, take on seeded daily challenges which keep throwing new sets of monsters at you until you die, or play the gauntlet mode where you win coins and shop for upgrades that will last you until you run out of lives!
The game plays either with mouse and keyboard, or with a game controller. You can play singleplayer or co-op with 2 to 4 players. A play session can take anywhere between 5 minutes and multiple hours depending on the game modes you take on and how fast you tire out! Perfect for both coffee breaks and extended play sessions!
The game also features a festival mode which you can enable and modify in festival_mode.txt! Festival mode features a new game mode made of levels defined in festival_mode.txt, with a proper arcade-style leaderboard with 3-letter alias input! It also features aim-assist and takes away the fullscreen option, so you can safely launch the game on a computer, hide the keyboard and let people play it without any issue. Like the main game, this mode supports up to 4 players, with 4 controllers, but can also be played solo.

I played this game for 99 hours and got 24 out of 25 achievements, and I got stuck on three levels at the end: Noble, Shell, and Guard. And I wanted to be the first person to beat this game so badly, but I wasn't the first person to beat this game by a while. And so I went and played other games by this same publisher, (because Puncake is awesome games are awesome) and eventually forgot about this gem. But one day, I came back, reinstalled it, and beat all of those levels within four hours. I loved this game because I was so immersed in the world. I would enter a flow state. It was amazing. The amount of hours that would just fly by playing this tiny little tank game is insane. I got the Tetris effect so bad I began to feel like I was piloting the tank. I began to imagine original characters that would pilot these tanks and drive them around. I began to imagine a world in which these tanks could operate in a sort of arena show down in a cyberpunk world. But then I thought, why does it have to be cyberpunk? What if there's four separate worlds or maybe areas? What if each of these tanks represents a different nation that all have these tanks and all are different pilots? What if eac…1 found this helpful

It takes the familiar twin-stick formula and twists it into something more deliberate, where firing recklessly is not just inefficient but actively dangerous. This simple inversion of expectations transforms what would otherwise be a straightforward arcade experience into something that demands awareness, restraint, and constant decision-making. At a basic level, the controls are instantly recognizable. Movement and aiming follow the standard twin-stick setup, making the game easy to pick up even for players with minimal experience in the genre. However, the core mechanic quickly changes how those controls are used. Every bullet matters, and every mistake lingers in the form of additional threats. This creates a constant push and pull between aggression and caution. Shooting frequently increases your score potential but also fills the arena with enemies, while holding back keeps things manageable but limits your progression. good game, but I'm playing on PC with keyboard and menu is rather inconvenient to use. "Press any key" not working, "Enter" key ignored, etc. Hoping that updated versions (today is may 2026) will improve in this matter.
Only 28 reviews for a game this good is criminal. Basically a perfect arcade game.
Very cool, very original idea. If you like twin stick shooters and experimental projects, this one will be a treat for you!
