Stronghold 3 is the worst stronghold. Playing it feels like playing some cheap knockoff, game feels raw. Archers range is messed up, commanding your troops is somehow painful compared to other stronghold games and the story is..., it just is. I bought it only to fill my stronghold collection.1 found this helpful
It is not as good as Stronghold 2 but it is well worth the playthrough! The graphics and gameplay is nice. It has some unique features. The missions are not too easy and not too hard. Minor glitches here and there but it is a good game. Do not understand the hate. And I only got it via key for like 2 euros :D
It was good, I don't understand the negative comments. I've played all the strongholds.
"Somehow 'The Wolf' returned"
This game received so much undeserved hate during the past years that the majority of the people didn't even give it a try. I remember playing "Stronghold 3" during its release and it was a complete mess but after playing this "Gold edition" I can assure that it is pretty decent in every way: historical sieges, an exclusive story-campaign, multiplayer modes and so on. The gameplay felt very similar to the one you can experience in "Stronghold: Legends" but with some major economic adjustment. What really shines is the building system: finally, you are not restricted to build in boxes and you can rotate every building as you like; even castles feel realistic. The story is really meh: I loved the voiceover and the idea of bringing back "the Wolf" but with the final mission the story doesn't really end. Pretty mediocre yes... but not a complete trash that has been depicted.
*Sigh* They really tried hard to make it NOT fun....
Game crashes constantly, starting a game is impossible. I have no doubt there is a game here, but it is not playable. I have paid $3 for a program that opens and closes
