SO.. THIS GAME I UNDERSTAND THE HATE. BUTTTT i believe it is mostly forced don't get me wrong its my least favorite game in the franchise. but it introduces a whole lot a new ideas i wish for them to keep in upcoming games my biggest problems with this one is the maps were too small. your overall freedom compared to other games is lacking and honestly at first the campaign was kinda upsetting but now im happy it ended the way it did. leaving room to finish the story of the wolf in a later release. the positives. i love the dark gritty atmosphere it gives in this one something that it perfect for the game. the dynamic weather was a great addition to the stronghold game the night raids were excellent. and that soundtrack is amazing!!!! like its my favorite one. and that's saying something considering all games soundtracks are good. honestly all this game needed was the classic castle vs. castle skirmish mode and a little polish it would've been one of there best still enjoyed playing though4 found this helpful
👍 Why I'm giving Stronghold 3 a thumbs up There are two main reasons. First, nostalgia. I played this game back in 2010 on my old PC after being incredibly hyped from playing Stronghold 2. Despite everything, those memories still mean something to me. Second, I bought this copy for only $1.50, which is basically free. At that price, I can easily recommend giving it a try. Now, would I have paid the $50 for this game at launch like i did back then, knowing what I know today? Absolutely not. Would I pay its current fixed price of around $14? Surprisingly... yes, I probably would. The Pros: This game is absolutely gorgeous. I don't care what anyone says for a game that's around 16 years old, it still looks fantastic. It looked beautiful when I first played it in 2010, and it still looks beautiful in 2026. The atmosphere is where Stronghold 3 truly shines. The lighting, terrain, buildings, and overall presentation create a medieval world that feels immersive and believable. Yes, the individual character animations can look awkward, but when you're looking over your castle from above, the game is simply breathtaking. The buildings look fantastic, the uni…2 found this helpful

Don't understand the hate. Great classic RTS1 found this helpful
I bought this game when it came out and had some fun with it, but in reality it is significantly worse that any of its predecessors. And probably significantly worse than any of its successors too. The worst part is how fiddly building can be, particularly with walls that never seem to be on suitable ground to build Still you can have fun with it... if it works. This game was a buggy mess on launch and crashed constantly even back then. Now, in 2026, this tendency has only got worse. Which, alongside some oddly long loading times can make playing it somewhat hellish. Unless Firefly decide to patch it up somewhat, I would say avoid buying this unless you have played every other single Stronghold game and just are that desperate for that fix.1 found this helpful
One of the best strongholds specially the graphics are amazing none of the strongholds after this one could matched the graphics from this one and the story line is well done, I dont know why the company abandoned this stronghold very early when they could fixed and milked it with some dlc.
