SUMMERHOUSE

The game lets you build houses in 3 or 4 different locations, all while unlocking more and more residents through combining specific building pieces. It's deeply relaxing and beautiful and has a peaceful soundtrack. The art style works very well with the atmosphere. Some achievements were a bit buggy when I played it, but to me this did not matter. It's a nice, very small snack game that will only gift you a handful of tranquil hours. Keep this in mind, but it's a good way to quiet your head a bit. I loved my short time with it.

I thought I would love it, it looked right up my alley, but sadly, no. First, I tried playing with my controller and it was a mess, so I had to unplug it and use the mouse and keyboard. Navigating the menus was still a mess. I like that there's no pressure in the game, but you need a balance, or else it's not engaging or interesting enough. There wasn't enough items, and reading a bit I learnt you don't really unlock a lot more anyway. I just ended up abandoning it, and that's not something I usually do. But it seems this one's not for me.

Nice concept but it needs at least ten times more content to be a released game (as opposed to a free demo or early access.)

The possibilities in this game are endless. All it takes is a bit of imagination and you can build just about anything. The building assets are bit limited, but you can do a lot with what you're given and the price is very fair for what you get. I'd love to either see an expansion pack become available for this game, or for there to be a way to create and share our own assets in the community. Great game with a lot of potential and, in my opinion, incredibly well-done for a game created with a small team.
