About Sun Down Survivors
Discover a new world set in an alternate timeline of Sun Haven, one where a hero never arrived. Without a hero to save the day, Dynus, the Moon Dragon, has conquered the lands, and now it’s up to you to wage a heroic last stand against his monsters. Complete objectives to gain more power, meet and befriend your neighbors, and even fall in love and get married! Take your place in the battle against the setting sun.
Play as Darius, recently crowned Demon King of Withergate, Lucia, Archmage of Sun Haven, and Jas, Master Summoner, or Artemis, Amari Bounty Hunter. With the help of over 13 unique abilities, defend your home against hordes of quirky yet dangerous monsters by using weapons and spells such as:
Upgrade your weapons, skills, pets, and abilities by gaining skill cards, which are drawn every time you level up. After every loss, make sure to use the weapons rack and anvil to unlock and upgrade your character and ability stats across all 4 characters permanently! Grow in strength, create your perfect build, and send those monsters packing!
Use your limited daytime hours wisely to craft, collect resources, and access the shop – or you may end up overrun by monsters. You’ll face constant waves of enemies during the day, and once Sun Down comes, the fighting gets even tougher!
Collect resources to build over 35 crafting items. By growing and selling crops, ore, and animal products, you can earn gold to purchase spell, weapon, and ability upgrades! The upgrades you purchase with money stack indefinitely!
Can you defeat Dynus and his hordes of monsters before it’s too late?

Vastly incomplete, and with an undeniably clear bias toward specifically the witch as being the only viable character to play as. This is just a crappy "let's jump on the vampire survivors bandwagon!" with near to no effort... All they had to do was make the rng drops not class specific, but no. Nope. I don't recommend this at all. Not even on sale.9 found this helpful
A broken, unoptimized cash-grab hidden behind a massive grind wall
To be clear: I am not even a fan of Sun Haven. That game is already incredibly clunky and unpolished. However, the biggest difference is that Sun Haven actually has content to interact with. Sun Down, on the other hand, has barely any content at all. Instead, it hits you with a massive, artificial wall of currency grinding—and once you finally get past that grind, you realize there is absolutely nothing waiting for you on the other side. I’ve tested it thoroughly, and this game is a complete joke.
Abysmal Performance & Broken FPS Lock
The optimization here is completely non-existent. The game has an FPS lock feature in the settings, but it literally does not work. During quiet battles, Steam overlay shows me around 2,000 frames per second, which needlessly overheats and overloads my graphics card. Yet, in the endgame, the performance drops down to a miserable 6 FPS. How is anyone supposed to play like this? Sure, the game is cheap, but a low price tag is not an excuse to release such an unplayable, untested, and unbalanced mess.
Unfamiliar Characters
The game only features two familiar h…6 found this helpful
Game started crashing around 9 hours into game. At 11 hours into the game it got to mid summer in year one and would crash to the point that it would not be playable. Sadly would not recommend to play until this issue is resolved.5 found this helpful
After starting the game, I can't even leave the house at all. Now apparently the devs have abandoned this game. Very disappointed.3 found this helpful
I pressed play clicked start tried to leave the hose to start the game and just got a black screen, I reinstalled it but still broke, haven't been able to find any way of fixing it so its unplayable.
pros of the game: -gorgeous aesthetic especially if you're a fan of Sun Haven -really fun varied characters which are perfect for developing different strategies -very engaging cons: -can't see your hit box -can't program the turrets -low indication of taking damage -no achievements :(
