About Super Grave Snatchers

Raise the dead to protect yourself from angry villagers: a necessary act of skeletal self defense. Yes, this zombie used to be your grandma, but whose fault is that? Tragically, the undead are also quite stupid. Use mushy imprecise commands to order your new boney friends around. If they stand in the right spots maybe they will at least munch a brain or two? Rip souls out of your enemies in a pixelated minimalist sort of way, raising them again as a small contingency of ghosts free to smash through an array of cottages and scare the remaining townsfolk. Give in to carefree destructive impulses on both the campaign and survival mode.

Don't think about it too hard. Just gather randomized, powerful, stackable items to grow your army. Throw fireballs at that church, what's the harm? With a few tweaks here and there, suddenly your slow little necromancer that dies in one hit is an overpowered tornado chucking maniac. Yet it can all end in an instant where one or two well placed arrows will send you strait back to hell. Luckily, at least the shopping is good there. If the sensibilities of retro gaming difficulty are lost on you, play on "weenie" mode for infinite continues! Now you can bask in the alluring musk of a dirty black sorcerer cloak without the effort! As you cast another lightning bolt just ask yourself, "Why is everyone so angry?" All you wanted were some new boney friends..
  • Swap colors - you may be a corpse, but you still have style!
  • Control large amounts of undead. Any enemy can be reused.
  • Cast spells to support your skeleton crew or harm enemies directly.
  • Collect and sell items to customize your loadout.
  • Find secrets to unlock new spells, abilities, and summons.

Super Grave Snatchers, developed and published by Night Job Games, is a chaotic blend of action, necromancy, and roguelike experimentation that turns the dark art of raising the dead into a bizarrely entertaining power fantasy. It casts players as a fragile necromancer who must build and command an army of undead while scavenging, surviving, and wreaking havoc across cursed landscapes. The concept alone sets it apart from typical indie roguelikes, but what makes the game particularly compelling is the way it transforms the act of summoning minions into a living, breathing system of risk and reward. Every corpse on the battlefield becomes a potential ally, every victory a chance to expand your skeletal horde. Yet for all your dark powers, you remain vulnerable, a reminder that even a master of death can fall in an instant. The game wastes no time throwing you into the fray. Armed with only a few basic spells and a knack for corpse reanimation, you’re set loose in pixelated battlefields filled with enemies, traps, and treasures. The visual style is unapologetically retro, evoking the aesthetic of 16-bit action games but layered with gothic flair and an irreverent sense of humor. The…

This game is only $1.50 and it is AMAZING, like, actually underrated. it scratches that itch that a lot of evil protagonist/overlord games just cant. Oh and did i mention that it costs 1/50th of the p[rice of those other games?

Pretty goofy little fun necromancer-sim, perfect for aspiring villain protagonists everywhere. Kind of a real-time tactical game, more or less. You raise corpses, turn them into undead, and send them against your foes. Try not to get hit, one hit is death. Nostalgic 4-color palette evoking the glorious (?) CGA era of gaming, before we even got to the state-of-art 16 colors. The game ended right when I got pretty tired of the campaign, so I guess it's around the correct length. At least one BS nonsense RNG achievement (1/10000 chance -_-), but other than that, it's good stuff. After you beat it, it unlocks a little sandbox level where you start with massive amounts of money/souls/whatever to spend in the shop and try stuff out, and an arena survival mode against waves of enemies. I think I paid $1 for it on sale and it's obviously worth at least that much, that's for sure.
