To keep it short: The driving feels bland. The game sometimes crashes for no reason (Unreal Engine 4 crashes). The game takes long times loading every single racing track (at least for the first time launching after restarting the computer but that's for each racing track). Not many cars available (it has less than 30 cars). Not many tracks available. Music is bad, probably the worst one i've seen in a racing game or at least one of the worst ones. Can't disable that useless blur crap. Go and play Need for Speed Underground (2) or even Juiced (2). There are many other racing games that are good but the most "similar" would be those two (four) i have mentioned. I can't believe they charged 50$ back then for this, now 25$ and it still is too much, it's a 5$ top game and that was back at release, sell it for a legit price then maybe people would take it seriously.

This is a really good game. It's feels a little unfinished, but it's still really good and with time we learn to handle the cars and the physics. For US: Good game, really good game. Feel unfinished, but really good game. Worth buying because this is good game.

The good : The graphics and music are decent, the race tracks and the destructibility are pretty good, and I appreciate the events diversity and the 2 player split screen mode. The meh : Customization is alright, I guess it's better than nothing. There is a bit of rubberbanding but that works well enough. The bad : Everything else is garbage. The handling is painful, the physics are broken, and there's atrocious input delay, although you might not notice all of those problems at first because they are less apparent with a slower car like the one you'll be driving at the beggining of the game. The respawn fonction is useless, the difficulty curve is all over the place, with some very hard events being followed by very easy ones. Also it's very sexist.

Lack of licensed cars, bad physics, missing driving mechanics, and lack of peripheral support ruined it. I think they knew that the lack of licensed cars was going to be fatal but I also think they just didn't realize that it was going to be impossible to afford when they were dreaming this up. The bad physics and gameplay is more confusing though, felt like they just kind of gave up before finishing and launched what they had to recoup their losses. That's kind of backed up from how quickly they left this game to rot with no further support post launch. Great idea, disastrous and incompetent execution. Shipping games is hard. Luckily Genki came along and dropped Tokyo Xtreme Racer this year to the delight of everyone.
