✦ AI summary

Players praise this psychological horror visual novel for its atmospheric storytelling, strong writing, and effective use of subtle tension through silence and gaslighting rather than jump scares. The multiple branching paths and endings encourage replays, and the protagonist has genuine agency depending on player choices. However, the slow pacing and reading-heavy gameplay may frustrate those seeking more action-oriented experiences, and the deliberate quiet horror approach won't appeal to all tastes.

This is a good solid game. Good story good music good writing suspense foreshadowing and fun with many bad endings and 1 good one. The main girl is not a wimp unless you make her one. 10/10. Even the length is perfect.

A tense, atmospheric psychological horror VN where silence and gaslighting create genuine dread. The branching paths and multiple endings add replay value, though the slow pacing and reading-heavy gameplay won't suit everyone. A haunting little gem for patient horror fans.

Developed by Reanim Games and published by STuNT, Visual novel: The One from the Dark is a psychological horror experience that favors suspense, mystery, and narrative depth over conventional gameplay. What begins as an ordinary business trip quickly turns into a nightmare when transportation problems and the town's strange atmosphere force her to remain overnight. Surrounded by uneasy locals who seem to know more than they are willing to admit, Jane becomes entangled in an ancient prophecy connected to a mysterious Tree, leaving her to determine whether the horrors surrounding her are real or simply the result of manipulation and fear. The game succeeds in creating an oppressive atmosphere through its storytelling. Rather than relying on frequent scares or action-heavy sequences, it gradually builds tension by making every conversation feel meaningful and every character potentially dangerous. The isolated village serves as an effective backdrop, presenting an environment where outsiders are unwelcome and every unanswered question adds another layer to the…

Oh, how I love noir visual novels. The main character reminds me of Alina Rin, and I don't know why, but it's as if she was modeled after her.

The horror here isn’t loud. It’s in awkward pauses, strange looks, and realizing nobody around you is normal. Creepy in the best way
