(If you want a True End, DO NOT OPEN the Red Gilded chest in the Beginner Stages (can't recall which stage level it's in, but you should find the trophy *BEFORE* you can open the chest anyway). If you DO OPEN IT, you will get SOME GEMS and then you will be
LOCKED OUT
of the True End. The shop only sells 3 keys and you will be missing Just The One which you need to attempt the Final Boss for the True End. I am so annoyed, that I don't even care to restart). I may not be 4 or 6 years old, like some other reviewer said, but I surely enjoyed the game. It was fun to see the bouncing chest animation too. I like the Hover ability and I wish I could've made it to the True Boss. But I can't. Guess this game teaches you to not be "Greedy" and "Work for your own sheet". I could've sworn that the previous game had more than enough keys. But this one is different. Oh well. Too bad.

This is a cheap game but I appreciate its simplicity. I had a great time with it. The character's float controls need some work though, especially on sinking platforms. I plan to play all the swords & bones games because they're tons of fun!

The new heroine is a mage but her energy attack isn't much different from a sword, except she has the longest reach of all Swords & Bones games so far. Her special technique is a teleport that is not very different functionally from the slide of the third game but, as it's got no visual cue (the character just disappears and reappears a little ahead), it's not really clear in its use and ends up often forgotten. The only really distinctive element is the replacement of the double jump with a floating ability, which proves, however, finicky at times. The graphics are always nice, but at times, some less care for details than with the previous game can be noticed. And as usual, you won't find any great boss battle here. In fact, the by far coolest-looking boss is also the easiest. The thin plot has the first two scenarios treated as a trial for the heroine to be worthy of pursuing the Shadow Demon, but nothing interesting is done with that, as every upgrade must still be purchased from the shop. A passage shown even in the trailer requires a specific spell, and it's the only spot like that. Sometimes the trophy appears only after having cleared certain enemies further in the…

I don't know why put "metroidvania" tag on this game because it definitely is not a Metroidvania. It's a very short platformer for 6-7yo children, with a coupla of boring/annoying things: - linear, no backtracking, no exploration; - only one movement ability, required for 1-2 palces, and which hinders more than helps other time; - instakill spikes/lava/etc; - platforms witout friction :) you slide outside platform even if you stay, without movement; - 4-5 types of enemies with scripted elementary patterns, that even do not take into account where the main char is; - bosses with elementary patterns also; - combat abilities - no, just press one button 1/2/3 times; - narrative... even not 6yo, maybe 4 :) Summary - wasted money

Originally I did not recommend the game because it was flagged as containing Malware and wouldn't launch. I tried again recently and it wasn't flagged and ran just fine. The game is much like the other games and is good for a short fun time and an easy 100% achievement. If you played the first 4 games it is the exact same formula; go through 10 sections in 5 levels where you fight a boss at the end and find all the trophies to unlock the final level and the true ending. The bosses seemed easier in this one compared to the others except for the final boss. Overall it was fun and a nice game, especially if you find it on sale!
