TASOMACHI: Behind the Twilight

I created VRMod for this game and I had an absolute blast playing it in the headset, I almost found all the lanterns ( getting close to 180 now ! ). You can just wander the beautiful cities and look at the night setting in while listening to some chill music or a good audio book, it's pretty relaxing

I'm going to give it a thumbs up but it's more of a thumbs sideways kind of game. The environment is nice, the ambience is great, I like the music, and the platforming is good. That being said, there are some issues with this game. Some mechanics aren't explained well, the biggest example being the airship sections on maps where you have to destroy either a floating pot or on that you need to drop a bomb in. These are behind noticeable rocks, but these rocks takes several hits to actually break. This is not explained well (I'm pretty sure not at all, actually) and took me way WAY to long to figure out. Locations for sacred earth are marked on spots on the ground where they spawn, but that doesn't mean that the starting point to unlock them is on the other side of the map. There is also the issue that some can't be completed right away and need to be the main game before going back and unlocking them, these specific ones are not marked as such, and was an annoyance early on when I was trying to figure out how to unlock them. Very chill platformer. A bit rough around the edges, but with great vibes.

While beautiful, very unpolished. 1. Picking up a ton of "source of earth" items with slowmotion effect. There are like 15 of such items only within my vicinity. And judging by what I've seen in the hub, you will end up picking hundreds of them. Slowdown should be reserved for smth really important, like an upgrade item. Also there are a lot of coins you need to pick up and it is slow too. Pick up should be automatic or the number of coins found and the prices heavily reduced. I just didn't even bother picking them up. I don't know why I need them, it takes too long. There are many around. 2. Immediate backtrack only after activating the first tree. 3. It isn't super clear what to do when you skip the boring talk. You can blame me for that, but there are many players who skip cutscenes initially cause it is hard to care early on. 4. Options and settings are wonky and limited. Like sliders go further than the line suggest. Mouse sensitivity at max is still not nearly enough. I often need to reposition my hand to move camera more. alright collection based platformer game, I do not like the camera panning around or sensitivity of it which is extremely slow to turn on mouse even with it all the way up and further unlocks with movement tech being hindered & hurt by it partly due to the camera panning.
