About [TDA00] Muv-Luv Unlimited: THE DAY AFTER - Episode 00 REMASTERED

In 1973, an alien species known as the BETA invaded Earth. In response to their seemingly endless numbers and resistance to conventional tactics, humanity developed manned bipedal machines known as Tactical Surface Fighters — a weapon system designed for the sole purpose of countering the alien threat. But TSFs alone weren't enough, and humanity has been trapped in a neverending war for decades, slowly but surely being driven to the brink of extinction.

February, 2004: Professor Kouzuki's last-ditch gambit has failed, and Alternative IV is no more. The fate of mankind now rests on the success of Operation Babylon — a massive, simultaneous detonation of the mysterious “G-Bombs” over every single BETA hive on Earth.

But in the blink of an eye, what seemed to be the hour of final victory for humanity in the decades-long BETA war turned into a colossal defeat. The alien invaders were seemingly destroyed, but at what cost? Europe and Asia were lost beneath the waves, and much of the remaining land masses are now barren deserts of salts, unfit for human life.

The apocalypse has come and gone, but mankind remains. This is the story of the few who were left behind to survive on a dying planet. This is the day after.

Stranded in the middle of the South Pacific, the future looks bleak for the men and women of the TSF Carrier USS John F. Kennedy. With their food supply dwindling, their communications down, and no improvement in sight, tensions are steadily rising among the crew, and many are fast approaching their breaking point.

Lieutenant Will Collins has been entrusted with the thankless task of conducting recon in the nearby salt flats. After weeks of uneventful flights, his luck changes one fateful day, when he comes across a survivor: Lieutenant Lilia Kjellberg. And while this seems to have been a fortunate happenstance at first, Will soon finds himself at odds with the new addition to the crew, as their beliefs clash on a fundamental level.

Can these fellow surface pilots set their differences aside and work together to survive, or will their rivalry only hasten the JFK's downfall?

The continuation of ML Unlimited, a slow start but I enjoyed it. The new CGs and sprites look really good, the music is reused from Unlimited and Alternative which is disappointing. The new client is... weird? I like the settings but the in game, interface annoyed me a lot when the borders on the sides wouldn't go away. As for characters I thought they were fine... with one exception (which should be obvious who) and the constant teasing of the MC was getting a bit tired at the end. Overall a decent, I look forward to the next episode.

Very enjoyable little VN, especially for the price it goes on sale for. Good characters and drama (and some intense action towards the end) and also is a nice little sampling of the BETAverse of Muv-Luv. Also despite it being an "episode 0" the story can be its own thing.

The story itself is amazing, it's muv luv, but there are so many issues with this port making it near unplayble. The main issue is the frame rate. It just doesn't go above 20fps, and that's on a good day, and at times it dips to 10-15fps. Running a PC emulator on my phone will allow the game to run at a locked 60 fps, but for some reason via PC, it's unable to manage more than 20. The UI is horrific- its like a mobile UI but somehow even worse- move your mouse and massive blue option bars will appear on all sides.

The first entry of TDA, it follows the Unlimited timeline and honestly it left me impressed, I have always found Unlimited timeline interesting so finally getting to see what unfolds after Alternative V was a great experience, I look forward to reading the other entries.

The quadrilogy is great but the base price of over $80 is absurd when it also doesn't even have a proper conclusion (or one in sight). I spent less than 25 hours total reading all parts and no more than 8 on any of them individually. As much as I love them do NOT get these unless you find a great sale.

Absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disgrace of a port, insane that this is sold in this state and at this price, the only reason the meager 120 reviews for this game is not in the gutter is because the source material is genuinely good. - I have nothing against paying for Visual Novels, 40-60€ for a 40 hour plus experience is in my book fair, assuming a baseline level of quality, but charging >70€ without a sale and 40€~ with sales with THIS quality of a port is insane. You can't release games like this and then act surprised when critically acclaimed and well-loved VN franchises fail to gain a foothold with western audiences. - Performance is absolutely horrible and most likely due to some severe underlying issue with the game itself, runs at 17 fps on my gaming rig but 40 fps on my 14 year old school laptop without a graphics card. Kiminozo with the same engine runs at 144hz/60hz respectively on both these rigs. - The UI is horrible, they added an option to hide the mouse when idle but NOT when clicking? Has this company not played a VN before? - Audio Quality is also horrible, with numerous issues in addition to the quality being subpar. A poster mentioned some issues being fixed by running samp…
