About TEMPUS: A Wizard Awakes

A Wizard alone in a shattered worldJourney across Tempus, a world of floating islands flora and fauna. You are a lonely wizard, once a caretaker of the temporal flows, now retired and hoping for the world to return to what it once was. With no purpose left a call to action comes from a small rock critter, crying for help as it finds itself far from home and lost in the wilderness.Use your magic to guide the critter and it's family home while you traverse hostile terrain, solve puzzles, fight vegetative enemies and find secrets in this charming student-made action adventure game. And if you don't want to save the critters... There's always the alternative..MagicIn the world of Tempus, magic is not free. Every action has consequence and as such you must be careful when harnessing the energy of your surroundings to fuel spellcasting. Carelessness will limit your options and you may just find yourself in a pickle. On the flipside, move  without haste and the friends you make along the way might lend you a hand or crystal to aid your spell slinging adventure.A Reactive worldWith only a simple projectile TEMPUS aims to provide some engaging moments and fun interactions through handcrafted challenges, puzzles and environments. Take your time to explore a small world and journey through the clouds.Blast a companion, hug a "friend", the world will carry on without you in the end.SecretsWhile the main story is short, we've made sure to include several achievements and secrets for curious players to find and hopefully enjoy, give it a whirl if you dare, take a leap of faith and don't trust a flower by it's petals.Thank you for playing!

Tempus has the potential to be a good game, and I didn't want to give it a "no" review. But after I playing it for nearly 3.5 hours, I just found that its game play and design flaws (or deliberate design choices) tipped it past challenging and into very frustrating, at least for me. Ironically, it is relatively easy to beat the game by getting to the end portal as long as you don't care about trying to save the critters - and I never managed to save even one in a number of finishes. The automatic camera angles obscure many potential threats (until they suddenly kill a critter), hinder trying to search for the hidden level or critters, and make it too easy to fall off the floating islands (taking the wizard back to the last activated restart point, but with dead critters still dead). The critters cannot be instructed to "stay still" so inevitably wander into enemy fire, particularly when there is a long line of them, and the critters can also be killed directly or indirectly by "friendly" fire, even when "un-woken" (which I wrongly assumed would protect them). I found the hidden level, but could not work out how to get out of the water (?) to the higher islands - overall this le…

A beautiful little game that gets very tedious very quickly with all the recharging, Also it completely trolls you by killing off all the critters.

It’s a really fun game, and I picked up the rules quickly, which made it easy to jump right in. The collecting aspect kept me hooked, I just wanted to keep going and finding more! I’m also really curious about the hidden level (which I couldn't find), and I love that there are secret places to explore.

Audio is backwards, secret entrance is literally advertised on the front page of the game, game is slow paced, no way to go back to revive fallen friends, no explanation of anything other than basic controls. Not enjoyable
