Ten Trials of Babel: The Doppelganger Maze

Ten Trials of Babel is a very charming game! I enjoyed the puzzles, the characters, and the plot. The combat is a bit lacking, but I think the developers also understood this because they made it somewhat easier to fight while keeping it relevant to the world and lore. The best part about this game is the characters! Even through some questionable translations, I really enjoyed all of their personalities and the way they both clashed and supported each other. Each character caters to a specific trope but are unique in their depictions. I didn't expect all of them to be so funny and likeable so that was pleasantly surprising. I laughed a lot at their conversations and the way they bickered for the MC's attention. The voice acting is also really good! I did not find any character's voice annoying, and I think all of the VA choices were stellar. I especially adore DawnWhisperer's voice! He's so seductive and cunning, they absolutely got the right person. The translation patch for this game is okay, but there are quite a few odd lines and sometimes the text boxes do not fit all of the english text. Cool game and good pixel art style, really liked the cgs. The lore is interesting and makes you want to learn more - Really looking for the sequel-. It is short game so perfect for a evening. The game is really cheap so don't expect a long game. Arround 3-4 hours to read everything first time and a few more hours if you want to get all achievements+endings. THIS GAME IS NOT AN OTOME like I saw on some social networks: All male characters ends being interested on MC and the game gives you the option to flirt back sometimes but also don't give the impression that she actually fells in love... so don't expect romance. Even if the endings looks more like she cherish her friends but not really in love. Kinda bother me that one of the characters is a ghost boy who died with 16 years old (but like usual: many years passed so he is >50 years old)... thankfully, the game don't really have romance about that + in my opinion, MC see him more like a friend/younger brother that romantic.

This was a great game, I finished this in 2 days and went through all the endings so thats how much I enjoyed it! Music: 10/10 I was pleasantly surprised with the music. some of the BGMs got me bopping my head to them. Also, Hello? I did not expect this to be fully voice acted?!? :O Art/visuals: 7/10 I adore the cute pixel chibi versions of the characters. The CG art is also pretty cute and what I'd expect from this type of game. Overall art is not bad and character designs were cool. Gameplay: The puzzles were fun, they ranged from super simple to some being quite challenging. There was some action/boss fights but they werent super hard (I totalllyyy [i]didnt[/i] die like 5 times during the last boss battle at alllll) which I'm glad cause this isnt that type of game. As for the dialogue choices- I dont think made any major changes to the story except for a few scenarios, which is think is the only downside. I would have preferred that the choices made would affect more of the story. Overall, I highly recommend. I'm definitely looking forward to the sequel! I adored this game so much I didn't even care they were making me do math to impress my boyfriends

too many yandere-esque bad ends imo (and dawnwhisper is a creep who can die in a fire) but i really respect this game for being a unique entry in the otome genre. the story and lore runs surprisingly deep, and the arguing between all the guys vying for the main character's attention was always amusing. the english tl is admittedly fairly off throughout the game and could use a lot of touching up, but it didn't get in the way of understanding the narrative thankfully. best boy would probably be carrus for being a cute dumbass dog or arlo for having his sadboi backstory. victor also gets an honorable mention, what a great trophy husband lol

im glad i stumble upon this masterpiece! I would say this game is perfect for VN lovers especialy otome fans looking for more action-mystery content. For me its around 10 hrs to finish one route, worth all the pennies. U GOTTA GIVE IT A TRY!
