About Thank You for Your Time
Welcome to the definitive surreal audition purgatory experience! The outside world is a cold, harsh place. That's why you came here. The cavern provides you with a minimum of shelter and - more importantly - the hope that you will one day be chosen to receive a place by the enormous fire hidden away in the dark depths below. To be chosen, you will have to impress the inscrutable hooded figures that rule this place, but that is much easier said than done. Nobody has ever seen the Hoods react to an audition before - positively or negatively, or at all, and their Shadow servants never give anything away either. And yet, there's always a chance. So long as you can outwait your competition.Thank You for Your Time is a visual novella that I made with Ren’Py as a solo dev. It’s a surreal parable where you make choices as a violinist stuck in an audition purgatory and ultimately answer a difficult question: how long will you wait for your once-in-a-lifetime opportunity? The player will have to decide the answer that's right for themselves. I hope this game will be cathartic for anyone who has had to go for an audition or a job interview, or who has just felt stuck - so, most people. Play duration is about 40 minutes to an hour. The game features a final choice that leads to two different endings, as well as a few smaller choices along the way that also impact the story. All of the images in this game are AI generated. The story and narrative design are my own. This is a passion project that cost me nothing to create. It should cost you nothing to play. That said - the best ways to support me are to share this game with someone who might like it or to review it! I want to grow as a game designer and storyteller, so it would be invaluable to know what worked for you and what didn't.Created by Alex Laney with Ren'Py Game Tester / Best Girl: Lena Böse

I absolutely loved this game created by a young up-and-comer game designer. The dialogue is haunting and beautifully crafted. I hope to see more from them in the future!2 found this helpful
Not big on visual novels but this kept my attention 'til the end. Worth checking out!2 found this helpful
This is game if very interesting! The story is very heart filled and I really enjoy the story that comes with this game! I haven't finished it completely but as someone that doesn't play novel games, this game really is underrated.2 found this helpful
I didn’t expect to get emotionally hit this hard by something that basically feels like a book. But not just a book, more like a 21st-century update. Interactive, minimal, but with something real under the surface. You’re not really “playing” in the usual sense, there’s no puzzles, no big choices every 2 minutes. But man, the feeling is strong. Like, you can totally sense the personal experience of the author behind it. It’s clearly made by someone who’s been on stage, who knows what it means to wait your whole life for one big chance, and maybe... never get it. It’s like a surreal audition purgatory, but it’s also just life. Uncertainty, silence, hope that eats at you. And all that hits harder than some games with a 30 million budget. Dat cool. Big respect to the dev. Short, smart, and weirdly beautiful.2 found this helpful
I started playing this game without any expectations and after I finished this game i was feeling very satisfied with the time spent on this lovely and original atmospheric story. Taking into account that thus is first game by the author i would give it 10/10 for the first game. The story development is keeping you wanting to learn more. The mystery, the setting the character relations and the finale are well written a thought through. Also loved that you can zoom out from the story and look at the metaphorical meaning of it . Well done! Looking forward for more works by the author! ♥️
