About The Agony
Do you often think of what is there, beneath the towns and the cities we live in? Sewer systems, bombshelters, scientific objects...
Are you ready to find yourself in a place on the edge of the reality plane you are used to?
That day promised nothing bad. But a usual walk with a girlfriend ended up in runnung for ones lives from bandits, which lead the main characters into strange catacombs, where the usual laws of the universe fail. You will have to pass tough tests and to overcome yourself.
The Agony is a visual novel from the authors of "Sixtieth Kilometer".
The plot movement depends on the player's decisions, each leading to its own consequences.
There are four different endings, based on the choices you make in the first part of the game.
The novelet genre gravitates toward pseudo-scifi rather than unexplicable misticism.

i keep thinking about this visual novel. i forced my way through it with a walkthrough some time ago, after owning it for years uintouched. it looks as if the typical piece of garbage. it reads like one too. there's a consistent lacking. how much of it is due to the terrible translation? and more so, what i realize is how it's marvelouis that this is a complete product. there is a story that reaches a conclusion. there is several endings. it has weirdness to it. it felt incredibly bleak in outlook. i never truly understood the philosophies being proposed. if i was fluent in russian, i would understand. maybe it's more hopeful than i understood? there is a cultural gap and a communication gap here. if you speak english, maybe don't.... but there's a satisfaction. this is a full game with a decent length. it has a fully constructed world and story. i liked it enough. but yeah, it's kind of bad....
The Agony is a story-driven indie adventure that places narrative choice and atmosphere above mechanical complexity. Developed and published by KishMish Games, the experience unfolds like an interactive novella, guiding players through a descent from a seemingly ordinary situation into a claustrophobic and increasingly surreal underground world. Rather than relying on puzzles or action, the game asks players to engage with its tone, themes, and decisions, presenting a journey where meaning is shaped by interpretation and consequence. The story begins with a grounded premise that quickly unravels. A routine walk with a loved one spirals into danger, forcing the characters to flee and ultimately descend into catacombs where logic, space, and intention feel unstable. From there, the narrative steadily sheds realism in favor of ambiguity, blending hints of science fiction with psychological unease. The writing leans on implication more than explanation, inviting players to question what is real, what is imagined, and whether the underground setting represents a physical place or a symbolic state of mind. This uncertainty becomes one of the game’s defining qualities, shaping how player…
Good game
Mediocre at best so they slapped some porn on it and called it a day. The accompanying soundtrack is at least decent.
