There is so much potential to this game, but. Settings don't work. I save them and they jump to everything but what I wanted to set. But it was fine, I could roll with it. But the game did not save so when my boat got stuck and I could not get out, I wanted to reload but the only save there was was from the beginning. So I lost all my progress. I would have loved to play more, but it was simply too glitchy. I love these kinds of games and I hope some day someone would fix it to try again. It seems interesting.2 found this helpful
Sure, there are some bugs legt, but in my case it isn't as bad as some of the reviews say it is. I didn't needed to restart the game even once, in my first hour, and didn't encountered any other critical errors. It runs pretty smooth with my specs. About the gameplay. Story is interesting and fresh/original. The gameplay itself feels somewhat familiar to me (reminds me of the game 'sons of the forest'), but with less advanced graphics, more simple level design and 'cheaper' world interaction (example: went looking for a stick, found 25 sticks all around me, but just 1 could be interacted with). Taken everything together, I would give this game a 'no', but if I take the price into consideration, this changes into a 'yes', and taken into consideration this is a student project made by the students of a small Dutch university, i give this a very big YES. For a student project, it is pleasantly polished - but unfortunately, that doesn't hide the flaws. It is an incredibly taxing game for my computer - which usually can handle all pre-2025 games with no issues whatsoever. Optimalisation issues aside, the gameplay is... slow. Hunger drains quickly, resource gathering is tedious, progression is unclear, etc... Good for a student project that is freely available - but as a learning experience, more work is needed.
I understand that this was a student project as far as I'm aware, but this might be the worst game I've ever played lmao. I played it though and beat it. Sadly I believe the first achievement you are supposed to get in the game is bugged so if there are any achievement hunters out there, might want to avoid this as there is a chance you cannot 100% it
