About The Art Of Flight

The Art of Flight is an homage to 80’s/90’s action arcade games, with a fresh twist on the genre. Forgo traditional live-counters and instead pilot multiple ships simultaneously to take down waves of enemies.
With each run being randomized, and over 60 stages to play through, no two runs will feel the same. Shift your focus from ship to ship as you play out an epic space battle full of moments of sacrifice, comradery, and risk. But don’t let your guard down… When all of your ships are destroyed, it is game over! The fun does not stop with just single player... Play with up to 4 friends in local co-op. During the flight, if one player loses all their ships, friends can help bring them back to keep the fun going for longer.
A variety of modes are available to discover to keep the completionist in you coming back for more. Compete for the high score against endless waves as you rescue captured ships to grow your squadron and take on mounting challenges.
The order of each episode is randomized to create unique challenges, which force you to pivot how you play. Push further in the game to unlock more power ups and episodes. Fly through asteroid belts, glide along slip-streams, grab powerups, and use your ships in unique ways to defeat bosses. Accompanying your actions is a dynamic soundtrack that responds to your moves as you make them, so use your Solo ability to freeze time for everything but one of your ships, and weave your squadron around enemies and lock-on missiles.
  • Each run has a unique feel and the order of stages is randomized as you play… with 60+ stages to experience, continue playing to see them all!
  • Up to 4 players can join the action. Local co-op available in all modes! Local versus offered as well.
  • Steam Leaderboards for the competitor in you.
  • Scoring mechanics that push you to play on a razor's edge.
  • Wide variety of powerups and boss stages to keep it fresh.
  • A dynamic soundtrack created by your actions.
  • Unlock modes and episodes to replay at your convenience.
  • Accessibility to adjust the speed and enjoy the action at a relaxed pace.
  • Controller support: Best played on controller!

The Art Of Flight is an inventive arcade shooter that takes familiar shoot-'em-up foundations and transforms them into something refreshingly unique. Developed by Et Al Games and published by Page To Pixel Publishing LLC, the game challenges players to think beyond the traditional single-ship formula by placing them in command of an entire squadron. This core concept immediately gives the game its own identity, creating a blend of fast-paced action, tactical decision-making, and resource management that feels different from many contemporary indie shooters. While it embraces the spirit of classic arcade experiences, it introduces enough modern ideas to stand out on its own merits. The game's most defining feature is its multi-ship control system. Instead of relying on one vessel, players command several ships at once, each contributing to the overall strength of the formation. This mechanic dramatically changes how encounters are approached. Positioning becomes just as important as shooting accuracy, and every surviving ship adds value to the squadron. Losing a craft can significantly alter the flow of a run, forcing players to adapt their tactics on the fly. This creates a consta…

The fleet of ships is cool, but I also really like the way different types of waves are interleaved during a playthrough. Makes for interesting, unique combos of challenges every time. And there's a ton of wave types. There's also some serious depth to the control mechanics (that I've not mastered). Especially with soloing to pause time and control one ship, there's lots of ways to optimize your damage and survival.

Just getting started with this banger. It's hypnotic and beautiful. Both relaxing and engaging and I've seen very little of what game has to offer so I'm super excited to dive in again and beat everything!!
