The developers from what I can tell have tried their hardest to fully address bugs and concerns by introducing bug fixes, adding more content, and polishing effects. Cinema Rosa is an interesting and slow building adventure game that doesn't hold your hand. You are tasked with exploring an abandoned theater and fit together fragments of stories and moments to discover what happened. As you solve puzzles you will rebuild the theater and hear narration adding to the story. There are some items to interact with such as post cards and emails that add a bit more as well. [h1]The Minor Gripes[/h1] There really isn't much room for complain here. The world feels pretty immersive with the fitting soundtrack and improved details. "Something is Missing" A review of The Cinema Rosa Over the course of its somewhat two hour playtime, The Cinema Rosa intrigues, entertains, and delves into a story of romance, tragedy, and loss. I found myself deeply moved by the time the final credits rolled across my screen. I was left pouring over the story in my head, not trying to make sense of it, mind you, but because I was striving to unlock the deeper meaning lying at the heart of the experience) which is something that most games don't make me do these days. Everything, from the atmospheric sounds, gramophone records, classic movie posters, and references to said classic movies (sometimes hidden on the labels of wine bottles) to the dilapidated halls of the titular Cinema Rosa, strive to fill the player with a deep sense of atmosphere, and what an atmosphere it is. Though confined in an indie budget, the game makes you feel like you really are walking down the abandoned corridors of a cinema from the days of yore, and every detail reminds you of where you are. The story-- arguably the biggest draw to this style of experience-- is not lacking in depth or emotion, as it takes you down a mysterious path of loss and regret…

Started off great then seemed to fall apart. Ended up in a projection room where you have to solve movie clip order (Clips only ran once then were just pictures) Left that room to an adjacent room where I saw movie reels and Got Stuck behind two trunks in the corner. Rebooted and entered the projection room again and went down the long hall towards the outside. As I approached the door, I was transported to some kind of burning, fireworks, nonsense and everything was moving Real Clunky and hard to maneuver. Rebooted and started at a former location and walked through a portal and started falling and ended up with a total grey screen and couldn't move at all. Didn't reboot this time, just deleted the whole mess. Like I said, in the beginning the game had Real Potential. If you can get it cheap, it may be worth checking out and Possibly some more kinks will be worked out by then. It just seems like it wasn't tested properly before being SOLD.

I did not finish the game. It was a nice puzzle but could not figure out how activate the blue shadows dancing at the piano room as seen at this walkthrough http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8lE5Jn1NYI&t=4m7s I think thats the reason I could not unlock the door next to the bathrooms. I cannot rate this game as bad, because it may be my fault that the blue shadows are not in the game.

The Cinema Rosa shows much promise as a work of interactive fiction with decent writing and solid voice acting. It does fall a bit flat in terms of execution since progressing through the story requires finding hidden objects and solving some head-scratching puzzles, which might prove frustrating if the playable area was not so self-contained in the first place.

An enjoyable short puzzle game / walking simulator. Good balance of atmosphere. Some of the puzzles are a little tricky but overall I enjoyed it. Approx 2 hours worth of game play.
