The Complex

The Complex [i]still[/i] falls short in serious ways. This had much more potential. There comes a moment during the movie, you expect to make a choice, but all of a sudden, it has already been made by the protagonist. So-called "The Void" scenes felt like low-budget scenery. Every [spoiler]gun[/spoiler] scene was unrealistic. "Calculated-risk worth taking" is the dumbest idea ever proposed. [spoiler]Guards passing in front of them[/spoiler] and not noticing, smh. Also, I would love the option to use the keyboard instead of clicking. We can skip scenes after the first playthrough, but when you trigger something new, previously seen scenes cannot be skipped. On the positive side, I appreciate that they keep making FMV games. I hope they continue to do so. The story was somewhat interesting. The length was good, didn't bore me, nor was too short. In some scenes we had 3 options to choose from, I liked the variety, breaking from the traditional two options. After finishing, [spoiler]seeing a relationship score system[/spoiler] was surprising, reminded me of Detroit. I don't regret playing it. I like the story and the casting. Enjoy the play as watching a movie.

The Complex was my first FMV and I loved it! I enjoyed the story, and the different ending possibilities were all really well done. I found the characters likeable and the acting pretty good. I LOVED that you are able to skip the scenes which you have already viewed while attempting to get all the endings. I feel like this game had just enough content to be fun; any longer/anymore playthroughs and it would have been too much. All in all, a solid FMV. I got it on sale for less than $5 and definitely think it's worth that price.

The story was ok. The acting was hit and miss at times. I think that was due to some of the writing. Some general issues I found. The settings options it was hard to see how to change them. There are two selectors below each setting for left and right but that wasn't clear. For those who are worried about the nudity. There was some bare shoulder shown and I got a scene where the main character was in a bra. Other than that there wasn't nudity that I found. There are no sex scenes from what I found. It's a fun story to playthrough but grab the game on discount. Also if you do choose to play the game don't play it in the dark. There are scenes where the screen be very white and bright. So it may flash bang you if you do play in darkness. You may also want to change decision timer in options to off.

A very well done story game that is interesting, engaging and full of many different potential paths depending on the choices you make. It's like playing a character in a really good movie. Highly recommend.

Just finished my first playthrough and it's probably the best FMV game i've ever played, Dead Reset also up there. Michelle Mylett (Amy) and Al Weaver (Rees) really brought their A game, legit Hollywood level acting. Their acting was believable, they created this whole complex world with politics and corporate meddling that was really fun to experience. The whole time I was wondering who was a traitor and by the end the stakes were really high. My only problem with it is that it's a great movie but the choices are too few and far between. Would have liked just a few more silly maybe less important choices to make it more "gamey", also I don't see any way to start the game from like the middle if you don't want to play 2 hours to make a different choice at the end. Can't wait to see the other endings tho.
