It is a short visual novel (30 min. long) that reminded me of the works by Kazuo Koike and Goseki Kojima. In all, I enjoyed the story. The art was beautiful but it would have been nice if more drawings had been used to visually tell the story.

A super short story with really cool music and visuals. My only complaint is the way it narrates with "(he did x)" a lot, not a fan. Also wish there were more CGs but oh well.

"The Craft of the Samurai" isn't a game, it's a cringey non-game high school anime club dropout fan-fiction that's been dumped on Steam into the games section. As a visual novel, it doesn't have any gameplay. It's just a lot of clicking through bad, cringe dialogue that no real publisher would ever accept. When people can't get their work published in print, they pay the $100 fee to dump their fan-fiction here instead, where we have to put up with it when looking for things that are actual PC games. Unlike most Steam Direct e-book high school anime club dropout fan-fictions, this one is not about the author and his imaginary girlfriend. Instead it's a fan-fiction about the samurai era of Japan, written by someone who is not from Japan. It is, however, just as cringe and badly written as most of the Steam e-books about imaginary girlfriends, so it's no surprise how badly this failed. This was slapped together with the godawful Ren'Py visual novel construction kit... enabling terrible authors to publish books as if they were games when otherwise we might have been spared the pollution. So, just like no professional writing took place here, no professional software development too…

I have no words for the story, nor the style of game, I only can say that this is worth a read.
