The End of the Sun is akin to the fern flower hidden amidst the shadows of many other titles; A hidden silver, if not gold itself, not easily found among the clamor of modern games. Though the tale itself could have lingered longer, the close-up detail of certain objects falls behind other works of its age, and the movement at times feels somewhat archaic, I must still confess that my time spent within this world was truly most pleasant. None of the riddles barred my path for so long as to breed weariness, and the story itself drew me onward like tales once spoken beside the hearth during long winter nights. Great strength also lies within the music and the landscapes, both those near at hand and those fading into the distant horizon revealing the beauty of the temperate lands and the spirit of the old world. Yet the greatest charm of all is the atmosphere itself. It allowed me to immerse my soul in the world of the forefathers, in the ancient realm of the Slavs, filled with beauty, wonder, and quiet mystery. Long has it been since I last played a title that granted such sincere repose and peace of mind. To the creators I offer my heartfelt gratitude for a work of which even Wel…

After 9 hours and completing the entire game, including all achievements, I can write a review. The game is beautiful, with many Slavic elements. The story is unique and interesting. The game mechanics are different than usual. There's a lot of walking through beautiful landscapes and discovering what's really going on. Did I already say there's a lot of walking? Right? Well, there really is a lot of walking! It's very irritating at first, but once you get used to it, you start to admire everything around you. It can also get a little lost where everything is, as there's no "you are here" arrow on the map. Overall, I highly recommend playing. I RAZ, I DWA I TRZY! SŁAWA! (Obóz Słowiański, Woodstock 2016r.)

This is a fantastic and atmospheric journey through slavic mythology. If you wonder what it plays like, it is a mix of puzzle solving and walking sim, with a lot of piecing together things on your own. So much so that you might need pen and paper to keep track. Which is a good thing. There is very little hand holding and guidance and some puzzles rely on memorization and doing things in specific order, or visiting the same location in different seasons. It is not that tricky to figure things out but one should be prepared for that. Once you understand the game´s odd time mechanic, it begins to fall into place. Still, bring a pen and paper and take notes.
