Close To The Sun

I have watched others play this game and when it came on sale I couldn't wait to play it.

I'm really torn with this one, first of all I want to congratulate the design team, like wow! The esthetic pulls you right into the story which are the strong points for this game. Normally I don't really browse that much through the collectable story, but these really seemed to catch my eye, and gave a lot of expose in hindsight. Walking through this enormous ship that actually feels lived in, unreal engine 4 is used to it's full potential. But then the biggest flaws come around with the gameplay which to be frank is quite lacking, the puzzles aren't difficult whatsoever, some of the mechanics don't seem works 100% of the time (vaulting during a chase and simply pressing a button). The chase scene's don't really seem life or death since they are a bit overused. The story feels incomplete, because you don't get the other pov of the story and therefore the overall game time is quite short. I completed the game 100% in 4.1 hours, which I think might even be on the longer side. AND.. the main thing I can't get over is the lack of options! Like sometimes the game is just so incredibly dark I can't see where I'm walking. No gamma slider No pov slider No save states to reload later …

Easily one of my favorite short story games. the atmosphere is incredible, the soundtrack is very good, the voice acting is great. it is incredibly atmosphere heavy and they did a wonderful job with the designs on everything. my only complaint aside from it being short is that sometimes during the chase sequences the prompts for vaulting over things doesn't work right away causing you to die. I wish the game was longer or there would at least be more games in this universe. absolutely phenomenal game. 9/10

[h1] Must Destroy The Circle [/h1] Close To The Sun is a really great game! If you enjoy walking simulators with mystery, fun writing, and puzzles, then this game is for you! When I first played this game, I thought it was going to be just a simple walking simulator with few puzzles strewn about the place, but I was really wrong. Firstly, the story of this game is pretty interesting. The whole idea of a giant ship the size of, what I believe to be, bigger than a modern day cruise ship and have facilities to have multiple giant floors is intriguing. Plus, they fill in the lore with tid bits of newspapers and writings on the wall. All of it makes for a very interesting and wild ride of an alternate history world. Plus, the characters, and their connections to inventions and world events make this so much cooler. The game play is not super detailed, here. I mean, this is a walking simulator, but there are chase scenes and puzzles. There are many horror aspects to this game, but it really adds to it, I think. The overall feeling of this game is really there. It feels like Bioshock, as others have said. And, it ties history with interesting voice acting, and fun puzzles. I don't…

Honestly, it was a really good experience n___n The story hooks you in right away and keeps you interested throughout the journey. What stood out to me the most were the ciphers lol they were incredibly entertaining to solve and added a great layer to the gameplay. Beyond the puzzles, the overall message of the game resonated with me quite a bit.

amazing storytelling. The controls sometimes are a little buggy but still an amazing game.
