The Fool

It is an ok hidden object game, but I got a couple of issues with it: - it needs a map, - some objects are named weirdly which makes me think this might have been a bit halfassed translated into English. Works without any issues on Linux with Proton (5.13-2).

It was the first day of April and I was in the mood for a game with some jokes so I searched my game inventory and this game popped up. It turned out to be a Halloween game. You got pumpkins at the cemetery, dug up a zombie and then resurrected him. Later on you'll travel to Greece (?) and collect power sources to fix a UFO...I should save it for late October, now I feel like a fool. About the gameplay - It's a simple hidden objects game with 5 standalone chapters, CGs are just a couple of photos, and don't expect a story you only get instructions on puzzles. Besides you don't get to combine things, just pick up stuff and put them back into use. Most places/items to interact shines however a few laid on the ground to test your eyes. Nothing actually impressive, but I'm grateful that in the first chapter no dragon is killed. I rate it positive, no big flaws and okay for the list price. very old yet enjoyable HOG that is worth playing pros. nice story ok sound tracks some challenging puzzles cons low resolution short (only a bit more than 2 hours for the main story) no bonus story for some reason rendered video cut scenes wont play while playing the game...they just auto skip.. overall despite being short i really recommend this one just for being enjoyable and pretty much polished. 8/10

Lol what's with the trailer? The game never looks anything like that, its a hidden object game. I liked it though. Objects are actually placed in intuitive areas rather than arbitrarily blended/disguised into the scenes. Lots of unique puzzles, the star puzzle in the later half of the game was actually really cool. The intro setting was my favorite, but the other themes were cool too. The character you play is definitely foolish, he caused a catastrophe in scene 1, and now we have to go on this whole a** journey to fix the mistake. Funny dialogue, enjoyable characters, pleasant music, and separate chapters to combat excessive backtracking, recommended for sure if you like hidden object games. This is kinda my fault, but there can be a bit of "pixel hunting" at times (I'm using this phrase loosely, its not really hard to see objects, you just have to scan the entire screen carefully wherever you go.) I played on hard difficulty which means interactive objects don't sparkle. (Available hidden object zones do still sparkle.) A pretty decent hidden object game, clear scenes but busy enough to be not completely trivialised, the mini games were fine although on the easy side, and overall it is fairly short. The plot is okay, although the end of chapter 1 kind of pushes our protagonist from a fool to an idiot, what else was he expecting to happen?
