In a creaky old tavern, in a forgotten corner of the video game universe, a storm is raging. The barkeep gets a patchy phone call. It's hard to tell what the caller is saying, but this much is clear: someone in The Six Pint Inn is planning a murder.
There are six patrons; all of them are video game protagonists trying to escape their past... But The Six Pint Inn has a way of bringing back old memories. Each flashback plays out in an entirely different genre, sometimes blending multiple. By exploring these memories you may discover the identity of the murderer... or you may learn much darker secrets.

Having started with Inscryption (masterpiece) and going back to play Pony Island and The Hex, you can see DMG's development as a dev. Each game takes his style further. If you enjoyed Inscryption, you might appreciate these other two games.
[h1]Pure Creative Chaos[/h1] [b]The Hex[/b] is one of the cleverest games I've played. The premise didn't hook me at first, but as each character's story unfolds, the mystery evolves into a fantastic meta-narrative that kept me guessing until the end. The game constantly subverts your expectations. Just when you get comfortable with one gameplay style, it switches genres, making every moment feel fresh and playful. Beneath that, [i]The Hex[/i] has a lot to say about storytelling, game design, and what it means to be a video game character. It's funny, creative, and surprisingly thought-provoking. [hr][/hr] [b]Recommended?[/b] Absolutely. Go in blind. The less you know, the better.
7.1 This is quite a weird one to formulate my thoughts to. The core game of The Hex is a pretty interesting narrative experience across many different game genres. It's one that I would suggest you jump into and just play it through. Without going too far into things, parts of it were a little slower and tedious and some parts were a lot more interesting. It was just missing 'something' to me, maybe an expansion on some of the setups. I still do very much recommend a visit. More over the background narrative is what has raised this a few more points to me. I won't spoil anything but evolving an outer narrative with continuation from prior and to the future also is an interesting concept and has me even more intrigued for future Mullins games. Albeit very smartly done in that only a small portion of things is initially shown to the player. All of the rest is ARG which is a bit of a mixed bag, intriguing and smart when it's come together after the fact. But I cannot imagine the frustration and emptiness as it was ongoing.

Good game, mini games can be a bit repetitive but the story is innovative and overall good
Great and intriguing story, but several exceedingly tedious and excessively difficult sections almost ruined it for me. I still got through it though and feel that is was worth my time.
