About The King's Feast

THE KING'S FEAST... YOU'LL NEVER BE HUNGRY AGAIN!

Become a legendary overseer of dinner parties and take control of your sword. Wielding your power as king, you will remove uninvited guests and would-be assassins from your affair. Will your subjects celebrate you as the "Lord of Libations" or the "Bummer of Banquets" at this grand feast? Only you and your trusty sidearm can tell what will be etched in the storybooks for future party planners to come.

Features:

Control the chaos of the room and where your blade will land.
Medieval Fantasy setting with unique gameplay.
Complete challenges and collect gold teeth to unlock new sword pieces and sets.
Quick and easy playthroughs with endless replayability!

You Are The Sword

Take direct control of your blade and its direction, while attempting to traverse this endless dinner party. Punish those who have insulted The King and make those around them think twice. Or maybe choose to go for distance to show the wrong doers that the king is not to be trifled with. Whichever path is taken is chosen by YOU!

Power Ups

Use Magical Power Ups to quickly replenish and affect the sword's behavior as it flies through the air.
  • Levitate: allows the sword to float through the air replenishing itself as it goes, but be warned, tapping into this power too much may cause your telekinetic bond with your blade to fail.
  • Thrust: Pushes your sword forward with great speed and will replenish. However, be mindful of the skill cooldown!
  • Repulse: Gives a boost of kinetic energy to your sword causing it to repulse against the ground. This skill too needs time to cooldown. Find replenishing buffs to reduce the cooldown faster!

Item Shop

Visit the Wizard's shop to spend the gold you've earned to purchase new and exciting items to use in the Forge.

Forging System

Utilize the forge to create and customize new swords. Mix and mash together sword parts to create endlessly unique cutlery that are yours alone!

Pros: - Fun and kind of addictive! Just had to keep throwing my sword and letting the high-speed, sword-tossing chaos ensue. - I like that I can use a keyboard & mouse or a controller to move the sword around. - The customization for making your own swords is pretty awesome. Note: Hopefully, they will keep adding more parts to further customize things. Cons: - A few graphical glitches but nothing too serious. - Some of the menus and text can blend in with the backgrounds, I missed a few things on my first play sessions.

For the low price, I had a good amount of fun with it. Nothing livens up a feast like that man of the people,. the King, throwing his sword down the length of what must surely be the record holder for longest dining table. Making a game of how far it will travel and how many peasants will lose their heads. The next dish to be served is lamprey pie, so it's a kindness, really. There is not much depth to it, once you craft a new sword with the finest blade, handguard, handle, and pommel available. And get a feel for the controls that fine-tune the sword's flight path, learning which objects on the table will bounce the sword and extend a "run." But by the time I reached that point, I felt like I'd gotten my money's worth.

King's Feast is a very light hearted, goofy game. The main loop of the game is throwing your sword and trying to cause as much damage as possible. At first, the sword is quirky to control but after a few rounds it becomes natural. My favorite part of the game is the art. When the game slows down or in the menus there are a lot of nice details to be seen. I like that the game has a strong theme and an addictive loop. It reminds me of old browser games I used to love and I think it has the same kind of goofy vibe as a lot of those games. King's Feast is for sure worth checking out.

It's a cool game. The customization is nice, I like the character design and animation overall. The gameplay is simple and easy to grasp, which is nice. My only complaints are that the text is a bit hard to read in the forge area, and there is no notification for completing a challenge, so I was a little confused when I kept seeing "Travel 500 meters in one run" not being crossed out or something. There are a few glitches I found, but none are too serious: 1. Pressing Esc when in the sound menu doesn't leave the menu, but puts the default menu behind the sound settings (hard to explain, test it for yourselves), but I can get out of it by hitting the back arrow. 2. Completely depleting the float bar doesn't allow you to use it again (even after it refills), I'm not sure if this is intended.

Well, I guess in some cases, the sword IS mightier than the pen. The King's Feast is an addicting, casual experience akin to old flash sites i.e. Armor Games/Newgrounds. You play as a flying sword, being hurled through your King's never-ending throne room; trying to chop off the heads of your majesty's royal Chibli subjects. The game ends when you run out of momentum and pierce the floor, which can be manipulated (positively/negatively) by the several food related obstacles scattered throughout the level. Casual, arcade games will always have a place in my heart - from a time where the only games my computer could run were hosted on web browsers. The King's Feast does a great job at capturing the same magic that made classic flash games - like Age of War or Raft Wars - impossible to put down. If you're looking for a simple game to mindlessly sink more hours in than you'd like to admit, then The King's Feast will sate your appetite.

A simple, yet humorous premise for a game. The bouncy music sets the tone pretty well, and the gameplay has a fun cathartic feel to it that makes you can't help but want to try again and see how many people will bite the bullet all just because some guy hurt your feelings. Positives: - Good art direction, simple but pleasing to the eye. - Gameplay is intuitive and easy to pick up and play. - Brings back fond memories of older endless runner games. Fans of those titles will definitely get a kick out of this. Areas to improve: - Some repetitive character models. Pretty common to see several of the same Knight next to eachother. - Some people may not realize you can use the mouse to change which way the blade faces. Perhaps add a mention of that. - A few extra challenges would be nice, or even items to pick up during gameplay such as magic orbs that boosts your blade further. It would add fun chaos to the mix. Good luck with your career in game development. Hope the best.
