About The Last Elixir
With the abrupt death of your mentor, you have become the sole proprietor of an alchemy shop in a world of magic and bizarre creatures. You will quickly learn to fill his shoes. Experiment with precise combinations of plants and minerals to learn the principles and the systems of the alchemical sciences. Use the knowledge you gain to produce the elixirs requested of you by a diverse set of creatures, monsters, and who-knows-whats. Will your arts surpass those of your mentor, allowing you to succeed where he failed?Alchemy isn't a simple matter of combining the correct ingredients. Ratios matter, and there are multiple paths to a final result. With a deeper understanding, identify what went wrong and improvise to bring an elixir back on track.Only the mouse is necessary to manipulate ingredients, containers, and tools. Carefully pour a tiny drizzle of liquid to reach a precise ratio, or quickly mash a root to harvest its essence.

Short but sweet and utterly fascinating. This one hits that sweet spot of what I'm looking for when I say "I want to play an alchemy game". The atmosphere created by the graphics and patrons and the bits of dialogue giving me hints towards what was going on beyond the door kept me really engaged, and that can be difficult when designing a game with only a single scene. By far my favorite out of all the alchemy themed games I've played so far. I really hope I can find more stuff like this!1 found this helpful
The game is creative and fun, a little confusing at times, but that's what makes it a puzzle game! The only real issue I had was at the end of the game, and a few minor bugs being unable to place things under the faucet (dunno why), The final potion lowkey expects you to toss aside everything you learned in the game in ALMOST every aspect. So I actually had to look up how to brew the last potion. Otherwise the game is solid and I wish it had an endless mode, where I just keep making potions for different customers. Very nice story!
This is a very good game, and with the fact that it's free, I would recommend everyone give it a go. None of the puzzles are particularly hard, but the mechanics can be a little fiddly, meaning it can still be quite challenging. The game is short, but that also means it does not become repetitive or frustrating. Give it a go!

i was having a lot of fun until i realized that the game actually is just figuring out what all the ren faire language the dev cribbed from his robert aspirin fanfic is actually saying to do instead of like... following recipes. which is what an actual master of alchemy would leave my prentice ass with in reality. skill issue also im dumb, sure, fine. i just wanted to make potions and screw around but instead i got a spider yelling at me that it isnt heavy enugh and needs to be in a vial forsooth and pon window pane fair or whatever. the diary is just a bunch of gandalf's blog so that doesnt help. i feel like im trying to make a cocktail for the most control freaky dnd GM who keeps telling me the celery stick is too short. pass.
such a delightful little game!!! i was honestly bummed that it was over so quickly, the mechanics were simple but engaging and i loved the story being quietly spun in the background ^^
