The Last Stop

Meh. It's always a bad sign when there is an achievement *just* for starting the game. I feel like I played a different game from all the folks who left positive reviews. Either that, or they have exceptionally low standards for horror games. Yikes. :( I was on a train, but I couldn't interact with anything but the doors. Anomalies were basically nonexistent. It was just a train with nothing. I spent 20 minutes walking back and forth through the doors and almost never saw anything different. I was mostly guessing and going forward/backward because I honestly couldn't spot any differences and I typically enjoy games like this because my attention to detail is good. I tried to soldier though to the end, but it's just so boring squinting at every little thing on the train because it all looks the same. On top of the lack of actual gameplay, there was nothing even remotely scary about this game. Again, it's just a train. Skip.

The Last Stop is a short anomaly hunting game. You are a passenger on a train and must look for differences like graffiti on the floor, fellow passengers changing hairstyle/clothes, objects changing position etc in order to proceed to the next stop. If nothing is different then you choose the door in front of you. If you notice an anomaly, then choose the door behind you. Correctly guessing moves you along through ten stops until you can leave the train. The game is very short but for just a few pounds, this doesn't matter to me. The fun of this game is looking for the anomalies and trying to "collect" them all.

I like anomaly games and I do think this dev could be on the right track (...) but even at 4 bucks this is overpriced. It can be solved fairly quickly, though I need to point out that there are 100 possible anomalies - too many for one train car with little to look at. I'm sure I guessed some correct with a 50/50 chance but there's no real way to track which ones you're missing and little incentive to figure it out. I completed the game twice and eh, I wouldn't recommend.

The Last Stop is a generic anomaly type game which does what we expect it to do, and that's already a good thing ! It is pretty short, but will give you a nice time if you're a fan of those games.

The entire journey can be completed in under an hour, but the low price makes this a fair value. The game appeals to anyone who enjoys observation challenges, and the urge to "collect" all the different anomalies adds replay value. While it isn’t a long experience, it’s cleverly designed, atmospheric, and enjoyable for a quick and focused puzzle session. If you like games that test your attention to detail, The Last Stop is worth a look.

I enjoyed it! There's some nice subtle ones in here, and a few that actually gave me a scare. I about had a heart attack on one of them! XD I also must note, I was expecting maybe 30 or 40 different anomalies, but 100?! Stellar work.
