Story
In a parallel universe, there are numerous worlds exist, live and die on their own space and time. They have their own stories and histories, some think they are all on their own, some wonder what are there beyond their limits. There are two worlds, the Spirit and the Human, are experiencing something more in this parallel universe. These two worlds are in fact affecting each other, reflecting each other with every move and happenings even though they do not know the existence of one another.
Once in a while, in a certain point of moment in time, these two worlds collide and become one ...

The clans of Spirit take rule over the world, yet the clans themselves fight for the ultimate rulership over the whole world by gaining power from the Balance. They need to open the secret gate of the Balance through the Soul Stone to gain the power. Human is the only living thing to be able to get close to the gate without being diminished and Human is the only source to keep the gate “alive”.
Karl, one of the few human left on world after the Great Collide, trying hard to search for his sister who is believed captured by the clan of spirits. The secret alliance, struggles between good and evil, to be dead or alive, power and riddles, lost and redemption… awaiting there, gazing at your presence.
The Quest and Fight begin.

"The Legend of Karl" is an abandoned 3D rendered 2D platformer/hack'n'slash game with surprisingly okay graphics for a free game, kinda lame gameplay (2D platformers are pretty much a dead genre), sluggish controls and of course it's riddled with bugs because it's abandoned. In fact the developers never updated this since they launched it. At least they're not trying to charge money for it. Am I the only one that thinks Early Access games should have hard deadlines and if the game isn't updated or published within that timeframe they should get removed? Maybe. The graphics in this game are passable, but could be better. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. История Карла, вынужденного спасать свой пиксельный мир, хоть и не отличается оригинальностью, подана с юмором и легкостью. Прыжки точны, управление отзывчивое, а уровни достаточно разнообразны, чтобы не заскучать. Встречающиеся враги и ловушки заставляют проявить смекалку и ловкость. Собирание секретов и улучшений добавляет реиграбельности. Боссы, хоть и не самые сложные, требуют изучения паттернов. Несмотря на некоторую вторичность, игра ощущается очень теплой и душевной. Это отличный выбор для тех, кто ищет простое и увлекательное развлечение на пару вечеров, особенно, если вы любите ретро-игры. Определенно рекомендую для тех, кто скучает по классическим платформерам!

I enjoyed this game of what I played - it's free and decent, the only reason to not play it, is that it's over in 30 minutes and leaves you wanting more. However since the last update was 56 months ago (at the time of writing this review), I would hazard that this project is sadly dead. It's a shame, as it showed a lot of promise.
decent game as for now played few mins of it got off after dying to the lava boss because you cant retrieve your lost souls after dying maybe something to look into since its early access right now
