The Little Pixel That Could

It's a fun game, but can feel a little jank at times, especially the dash. Some kind of indicator for when you can dash vs when you can't would improve it, but it also can feel a bit delayed sometimes or like the game eats your inputs. Also the checkpoints can be kinda frustrating, sending you back pretty far. Other than that it's a pretty solid game, if a bit on the basic side. It's got a nice story going for it and once you've really got a hang of the controls it can be quite fun. If you think you would go for the speedrun achievements or the advanced levels it's probably enough gameplay to justify it's cost.

This is the kind of game that makes you question why you keep dying and why you keep coming back anyway. The minimalist art style is charming, the puzzle design is smart and builds on itself level by level, and the story hiding underneath it all gives the whole thing a surprising amount of heart. After my play session, I still found myself watching speedrun videos just to figure out how to push through, which says everything about how engaging it is. The checkpoint spacing can feel punishing at times, and there is a small bug where double-pressing an interaction key resets your progress mid-puzzle, but neither of these hurt the experience enough to walk away. If this game ever trends, nobody should be surprised.

I really enjoyed playing Pixel; the controls were very smooth, the puzzles were clever, and the retro-style music created a wonderful atmosphere. Some of the mechanics and the checkpoint system can be a little frustrating at times, but they become quite satisfying once you get used to them. Overall, it’s a great platformer,I definitely recommend it to everyone.

Fun and simple platformer with smooth controls and a nice retro feel. The levels start easy but get more challenging, which keeps it interesting, especially if you like precise gameplay, overall it’s a solid and enjoyable game
