Almost 20 years ago, when I was young and poor, I used to download all kinds of games, if you know what I mean. At some point, together with an old friend, I came across this game called The Outforce. Was it popular at the time? I'm not sure, but I know there was something great about the game that kept us hooked for a long time. We spent a lot of time playing it, both in single player and multiplayer. It's a common story for a lot of people and different games, but there's another thing that The Outforce inspired me to do. I used to burn, for my personal use of course, a series of CDs called "Cool Games". The Outforce was number 1 in that series. I used a blue colored marker to write it's name beautifully on the CD and cover. From that point on, I decided that I would do that with all the "cool games" out there. I can't remember how many games were in the series because I either got rid of them or lost them, but I remember XIII being #2 (green marker), Freedom Fighters #3 (red marker), and State of Emergency #4 (yellow marker). Land of the Dead and Original War was also there, but I don't remember its number and color. There were no popular titles in the series at all, just my pe…13 found this helpful
This game is extremely buggy and quite often it just shuts down, also autosave is getting stuck and not loading. Every time you enter new level in campaign, it is highly recommended to save it manually, because you will lose your progress because of already mentioned issues.5 found this helpful
Runs as great as I remember. Fun RTS and I'm so happy this has been brought back for modern audiences. Is it a the greatest RTS ever? No, not at all. But it is still fun to play and brings back some great 90s/00s PC fun. Took me some trail and error to get to a decent screen size with my 4K monitor but it does work and play perfectly when it's set up. Stick with 4 x 3 and old school 800 x 600.4 found this helpful
I only had a demo like 13 years ago. I played it over and over again many times. Nostalgia is real ! :)3 found this helpful
I played this game when it first came out, make you think about tactics and work hard but very enjoyable.1 found this helpful
I used to play this game a lot as a kid and I was so happy to find it on Steam because it felt like a hidden gem. Unfortunately, I can't give this game am positive review because just getting it to work properly has been like pulling teeth. The game constantly crashes and freezes up my whole PC where I have to restart it because I can't access the task manager. You're forced to play the game at the lowest resolution in full screen, because non of the other resolutions work (including the windowed resolutions). I was able to complete the first level of the campaign, but after that it just stays on the "Mission Accomplished" screen and doesn't progress any further. It's a shame because this is a pretty solid RTS and I would recommend trying it out if it could actually run without these issues. I really hope that they're able to fix these problems, but the game isn't that well-known so I can't really have high hopes for that ever happening.
