Won a key for this from an IndieGala giveaway. Wish I hadn't. I spent most of my time trying to get it to work with controllers. For those interested in trying to get it working, the game controls are as follows: P1 Move - WASD Light Punch - T (also the 'Accept' button) Medium Punch - Y Heavy Punch - U Light Kick - G Medium Kick- H Heavy Kick - J P2 Move - Cursor Keys Light Punch - Insert (also the 'Accept' button) Medium Punch - Home Heavy Punch - Page Up Light Kick - Delete Medium Kick- End Heavy Kick - Page Down Enter/Space - Pause I've mapped these to 2 controllers via Steam Input but was still struggling to get things working properly with 2 controllers. It seemed okay after mapping 1 but struggled with the 2nd for some reason - sometimes player 2 inputs did nothing despite being mapped to the correct keys. Maybe disabling Steam Input and using a 3rd party key mapper might help, but I can't be bothered. It felt like a lesson in futility at this point and coupled with the horrendously repetitive midi-sounding music loops, was enough to deter me from playing much more. As for the game in question, it feels like a prototype/learning exercise for a weapons-based (swords) 1v…

TR The Risers is a fantastic entry and a perfect view of the future of fighting games. Mr. Wyndi is an amazing character and his Frenzy ending is phenomenal writing. The KickBack system is a great mechanic and the X-Breaker system is the most unique thing I've ever seen in my human life of 28 light cycles. Truly. This was. TR The Risers.

the characteres are not balanced at all, everything is glitchy and broken, the camera has a seizure every 2 seconds, the final boss can randomly do nothing or constantly hit you with unavoidable attacks, and there is basically no strategy - it is total unfair buttonmashing. but this is good. game has some of the most real 80s B movie horror atmosphere ever. like you would find this in a cheap half-working broken arcade. it is dirty and cheap-feeling and low-priced and this adds to the experience. the characters are like classic horror villains but from some alternative history. the best part are the weird ending cutscenes for each character - they show the s trange world of this game more and some of them feel like "cursed" videos. very nice
