About The Shape On The Ground (Steam Edition)
WARNING : This software contains imagery that could evoke sensitive subject matter in some users. Such subject matter include Grief, Death, Self-Harm and Suicide Ideation.
The Shape On The Ground is not a game, in the conventional sense. It is a short horror-themed first-person walking simulator experience which can be completed in 20 minutes.

Consider it as a tarot reading : both a divination and self-reflection tool. A moment in time for yourself, a magick circle, to freely explore your inner world. Walk around a desolate town in search of the 12 dioramas where you will be asked a question.
Answer truthfully, with the answer that best corresponds with how you are feeling. There is no right or wrong answer. Then you will be shown an ending and given a personalized reading based on your answers.

Similar to a director's cut, this version of The Shape On The Ground contains new material never seen in earlier versions.

About 16 minutes worth of entertainment. Not sure if I'd ever come back to this experience. It is creepy. However, my final reading was about as generic as a Public Service Announcement slogan. Rate 5/10. Should be priced at .99 cents honestly.6 found this helpful
veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery accurate, surprisingly so. self-knowledge and exploration is very important. i think it's The Most Important Thing, really. props to the "game" for bringing this theme/activity to the screen.2 found this helpful
Find 12 dioramas and choose answer from 3 choices to question "what do you see?". At the end you'll get an reading based on your choices.2 found this helpful
An interesting 20 minute experience that feels more like a rorschach test to me than a tarot reading though admittedly I know very little about tarot. The best aspects are the environment, the morbidly beautiful dioramas, and the overall vibes which are all quite intriguing. The personality quiz aspect is interesting and feels like a 3D version of Randumb Studios' The Test series, though I think the questions and responses you can give are too vague to really offer any insight and I didn't get much out of the final conclusion, which is something The Test series actually does quite well since the questions are more personal and direct. Still though, I love the whole aesthetic and having been impressed by I Make Saints it's clear Somewhat Software is a group to keep an eye on in the low-fi horror space.
Came for the sick ass atmosphere, stayed for the tarot reading. This game has a super cool concept, definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but it's right up my alley I love stuff like this.
Abandon Obsession. But can I? Honestly a pretty cool experience but 4 Euros might be a little to much for about 15 to 20 minutes of content. Will revisit the game in a while and see if I get a different reading.
