About The Short Bread Game
Being a piece of bread, you naturally crave a stack of pancakes for breakfast. To start off your day and, more importantly, fill your stomach, you set off on a journey to get the best pancakes in town. However, you soon realize you have no clue where the bakery is. Thankfully, it seems like an intruder in your house may just know where you can find it...In this casual platformer, you explore environments ranging from your home to space. Though getting to your end goal doesn't seem hard at first, you soon find that the path there is a tad convoluted, with enemy desserts jumping around at every turn, trying to stop you. Not to mention, your new friend seems to enjoy messing around with you a bit. If you're looking for a low-stress way to take a break, this may just be the game for you. :)

Congrats! You've done it. With a search combination of 'short' and 'free', you've officially reached the bottom of the barrel. The Short Bread Game is a game about pancakes and trust. Beat it in 45 min using a combo of the keyboard and mouse. Difficulty is: Rage Bait. This game feels like a 'first game' for a developer. In which case, good job! You made a game! For anyone playing, be prepared for 9 levels of slow toast, and controls not responding. Sir Toasticles cannot walk a straight line without hitting an invisible pixel and getting stuck. The story is bare bones and halfway incomprehensible. Enemies can one-hit KO you, and their hit boxes extend well beyond their touch radius. The breadite runs about as fast as dinner with Grandma, and jumps about as well as her, too. On one occasion, I had to walk past the platform and stand on air in order to make a jump to another platform. Other times, the rocks would spin and make jumping unresponsive. There are no directions for what the controls do anywhere. I started with the keyboard, and then couldn't find the key to advance text to had to move to left-clicking on the mouse. Cool visually! Controls with mouse are odd but the game itself is entertaining eye candy.
I got this game cause I wanted a cozy platform game. I don't recommend this if you're an exclusive cozy gamer. When you are "killed" you have to start at the beginning of the level which gets quite frustrating the 3rd or 4th time. It would be WAY better and more chill and cozy if it just had you start right where you left off. It also appears that you can't turn off the audio? OR the developers don't have it set up in a user friendly manner, because I couldn't figure it out.
