These Darker Tides

Probably fine for what it is, first of these I've played. What gameplay there is seems to be in line with this style of game. Issue is the bugs or just dev issues. Why when I select "Accept" in the settings menu, do I actually click the "Quit Game" option instead, because the buttons are much larger than the text. Also very easy to bug out different ui elements if you click out of interactions too soon or in a way the game doesn't expect I guess. The little basket mini game is very easy to get that ui stuck on your screen. I broke one of the cameras by selecting abandon before it finished its pull out animation, then had to madly click around it floating in the air under me to finally fix it. What's there when it works seems fine, but it feels held together by scotch tape and crossed fingers. Edit: So I beat the ghost story mode, or assume I did? Didn't pop the achievement so not sure if bugged or... idk. Finished that. Go to new game, now all of the UI elements are out of alignment. This game just keeps on giving lol. Edit2: The Mermaid and Alien stories were the best, Ghost is just a bunch of jump scare screamers. Would be a fine game if the bug issues and just jankyness …

Effective horror. Though not much of the horror is of the "ignore the horrors and do your job" type that I love. The most intense horror is usually outside the pod.

The game has 3 modes and all modes takes around 40 mins i guess. Designs and gameplay is okay, the bugs that are accuring while playing the paper game is sometimes annoying but you can fix it by interacting with it again. The counting of your score is also bugged if you hit the highest score in a row. Also, most of the achievements are not working, you can finish game modes but you will not get the achievements for that, or you cant get the fire flares, fix cracked lens etc achievements. And the developers couldnt care less about that apperantly. There has not been an update for the achievement problems for months maybe close to a year now. You can buy it on good sales but paying the actual price for a short and bugged game -which developers abandoned after the release- wouldnt make sense.

A pretty solid horror game, however there is some bugs in the game and as a fair warning after beating one story mode reset your game otherwise enemies from an other story mode that you just completed will appear.
