About RebreatheR
Descend into the depths of underwater horror and industrial routine.RebreatheR is a story-driven horror game. You're a deep-sea diver working on the ocean floor. Explore a small open world beneath the waves. Collect industrial debris, repair pipes, follow your instruments, and conserve oxygen. You’re no superhero — your suit is practically antique, oxygen is limited, and you can’t run from the unknown for long. Plan every step and take your time. Anything could be waiting for you in the deep.Once the pipes are finally found — the real trial begins.Sneak through abandoned labs, monstrous structures, and dark caves inhabited by unknown forms of life.Mysticism, hallucinations, glitches in perception — you're no longer sure reality even exists.
Features:
- Two gameplay phases: free exploration and claustrophobic story-driven segments.
- Interaction with underwater flora and fauna — from neutral creatures to aggressive, anomalous predators.
- Subtle horror approach — no jumpscares at every corner, with a focus on atmosphere, unease, and slowly building dread.
- Stamina, oxygen, and total darkness — limited resources create constant tension, and every decision could be deadly.

This all destroyed any built up sense of tension and created a poorly paced experience. The monsters may be the worst part of the game. The Steam page promises a "Subtle horror approach — no jumpscares at every corner, with a focus on atmosphere, unease, and slowly building dread." That is a lie. Monsters-- the sharks, deadheads, and ghosts-- all sneak up on you without sound or any indication and you just die and that is the primary threat and source of any horror. I spent so much time just trying to figure out WHY I got a death screen. The ghost section as the worst... infinite spawning clones of the same asset make it impassible. They are supposed to be "scared of the light" but I even …10 found this helpful
