About Threshold Warden

Every thousand years, a chosen one journeys to the Rift — a place where life and death converge. In the shadow of an ancient crypt, a crystal glimmers, calling to lost souls. They do not remember their deaths and are drawn to the light, hoping to escape this grim place. But touching it only disturbs the peace of the living with their presence. Now, you are the new Guardian. Do not let the boundary between worlds vanish.Threshold Warden is a 2D pixel-art shooter-platformer where you control the guardian protecting the world of the living. Build towers, place turrets and traps to keep zombies from reaching the crystal and defend the boundary between worlds.By defeating enemies, you collect soul fragments. Once a wave is complete, the crystal activates and offers you a choice of upgrades and defensive tools: light generators, turrets, flamethrowers, mines, new weapons, and much more. Combine items and strategically strengthen your defenses to stop the zombie onslaught and keep the crystal safe.

You’re a guardian tasked with protecting a crystal from a relentless zombie horde, and that’s all the motivation you need. The crystal stands at the center of the screen while zombies spawn from both the left and right. A warning sign appears on the side an attack is coming from, so you won’t waste time running in the wrong direction. The guardian controls like a classic action hero, with left and right movement, a jump, and a fire button. Ammo is unlimited, but you can only shoot one bullet at a time, so mashing the fire button offers no advantage. Enemies require multiple hits to bring down and are torn apart piece by piece. A visible rectangle marks any enemy that’s still dangerous and also serves as an auto target for flying foes. Defeated enemies drop souls that you must collect to fill a bar. Once the bar is full, the wave ends and all remaining enemies are instantly destroyed. After the wave, jumping on top of the crystal lets you choose one of four random perks to help you survive the next rounds. Perks include a magnet that draws in souls, increased firing range, lightning strikes, and other helpful upgrades. Some options, such as turrets, require unlocking a related pe…

Awesome pixel tower defense! Upgrading guns and traps with souls feels great. Intense zombie waves and cool retro style. 10/10!

undying graphics, such games do not age, and I was surprised that they still make games in a similar style from scratch. I hope the game will develop further

The game Threshold Warden is super fun! I love how I can build towers and traps to stop zombies from reaching the crystal. The pixel art is colorful, and it feels like I'm a guardian in a special world. Every time I defeat zombies, I feel like a hero, and I can't wait to play more!

It is “Home Alone,” if Macaulay Culkin was an immortal pixel guardian, the Wet Bandits were zombies, and the house was a magic crystal sitting on the border between worlds
