Through Ash

Not a bad free to play game, nicely designed and stuff like that but I think it would of been cool to have like a pov from the rover rather than a iron lung map I think tbh. Beginning cutscene was nicely designed too and this game wasn't too bad overall https://youtu.be/IcgGgFChBwI

It's alright. A brief guide or tutorial to what you're supposed to do to keep the bunker functioning wouldn't go amiss-as I would imagine the guy trapped in there should know how to operate it. Could even just be a couple lines of dialogue when stuff breaks where he talks through what he's supposed to do. If you're stuck on what the code for the power is-it's on an object nearby that looks blank when everything is fine. No idea on how to get the two achievements I missed.

Through Ash is a really short game, but I think it does a good job of making its small idea feel much more important than it first sounds. I am stuck inside a bunker after some kind of nuclear disaster, and I have to remotely control a logistics rover travelling through the wasteland outside. I never actually leave the bunker myself. Instead I am using terminals and cameras to guide the rover, keep it moving and make sure it survives long enough to deliver its important package. The whole setup feels lonely from the start, and I like that the game does not try to hide that. The rover is the main thing I am managing, and a lot of the game comes down to making careful decisions while I am moving it through the ruins. I have to watch what is happening, deal with obstacles and avoid making too many mistakes because damage to the rover is tracked throughout the journey. I like that because it makes even fairly simple sections feel more important. I am not just driving from one point to another. I know that a bad decision can stay with me, and that gives the little bit of gameplay more weight than I expected. What really makes the game work for me is the story. At first I do not really…

highly recommend good cheeky 30 minute game

Easy gameplay once you get used to it, had difficulty trying to figure somethings out. The story is short but great. I'd recommend playing it.
