It's a short, mostly linear visual novel that takes place in just one room. It's an interesting story, like you'd see in some of the more artsy animes. From Japanese and American pop culture I've come to expect something dark and ironic to happen--which has grown old and tiresome, so I'm glad that didn't happen here. However, I did not find the "bad ending", so maybe I just missed it.1 found this helpful
A short neat game. It's like a little Omori with military aesthetics sprinkled on top. Art, sound, music all nicely done. Story is also really nice, it's really emotional. You can check it out!
Wow, I had to sit with my feelings for a bit after playing this.. Its a bittersweet heart wrenching story (apparently there is also a bad end but I don't think I'm going to go for that). I love how the art and perspective change the further you progress in the story. The music and the last picture really made me tear up for awhile. Honestly the whole soundtrack is beautiful. They also did a great job with the translations. I'm grateful that they were made possible or I may of have never experienced this story. War is honestly such a horrible thing and thinking about the kids that are currently living and dying through it just breaks my heart. Even though the end doesn't have an ultimate resolution it leaves you with hope and yearning. In the end though his childhood is gone, he is full of invisible scars and trauma and no matter how much he heals he will forever be a changed person. In a way the feelings remind me a bit of the ending of Ocarina of Time. The sadness and sorrow will never truly be gone but we have to embrace and live for a better tomorrow.
Aftermath was a beautiful, emotional game. I recommend it if you love short, simple games, easy puzzels, and a story thats deeper than you'd expect for a game under $5!!
What a beautiful, short game. Had to get both endings (its currently 4am). I love the artstyle, story, and the overall progression through the entire game. The plot really makes u think. Would def recommend, glad i found this hidden gem even after a full year since its release <3 (worth every penny)
An amazingly moving narrative game. It uses its visuals to help tell a compelling story about suffering and moving on. Truly beautiful.
