Ticket

I made my mark on a world that was ever so crumbling around me. Very strange small game. Had a disproportionately large impact on me, and I didn't expect to love it as much as I did. If you want to kill a few hours in the most bizarre way possible, and be confused at how much you enjoyed an objectively questionable game, then you should play Ticket.

I love games that look like this. I thought there was a lot of creativity in it and I was impressed by the level design even if at times it can be a little bit tedious. At times I was thinking it was akin to a puzzle platformer. I don't really like story in games anymore and there's a lot of text, but it's skip-able so no prob. story was absurd, which is funny and cool. I will likely play again to get some more achievements, but I don't think I'd 100% it. Overall I love it and I would like to see more games with this style. Looking forward to playing more magicdweedoo games.

Ticket is a deliberately strange and unconventional indie adventure that embraces surreal comedy instead of trying to behave like a traditional platformer. Developed by magicdweedoo and published by magicdweedoo and Nonsense Machine, it revolves around one of the more unusual playable protagonists imaginable: a lonely and timid left foot named Shoe. The premise establishes a collapsing world where angels and demons have apparently exchanged identities and human emotion is no longer considered valid. Shoe decides to resist this increasingly absurd reality and make some kind of meaningful impression upon it, producing an adventure that combines existential ideas with intentionally ridiculous humor. The gameplay is primarily constructed around 2D platforming, exploration, and light puzzle elements. Shoe travels through bizarre landscapes by jumping, hopping, bouncing, and navigating environmental hazards. The mechanics themselves are relatively straightforward, but the environments constantly attempt to make familiar platforming concepts feel unpredictable. I should not like this one as much as I do. In terms of actual gameplay, this is average, with some levels being confusing as to where to go. But damn, if you want a game where you like it despite all of it faults, this is the one for you. Nice and short too.
