About Tilefinder

Tilefinder is an indie rogue-like turn-based grid RPG in which you slay hordes of monsters through a procedurally generated kingdom to find the legendary Tile shards! While excavating the castle, a floor tile came loose, releasing eldritch corruption that overtook the kingdom. Now, with the floor tile broken, it is your job to bring all the pieces together and assemble the Tile to seal the evil back where it came from!
Tilefinder is my passion project; having worked on it solo for years, it has finally come to reality! Although it has bizarre encounters and whimsical dialogue, make no mistake: Tilefinder can be a difficult game in which every choice matters!

Simple Yet Deep Combat

Pick your characters of choice and advance through procedurally generated kingdom maps and slay enemies in a tactical combat game that plays like chess! There are loads of interactions to explore and combos to try on the board!
Will you die? Probably. Can you succeed in the end? Absolutely! Each run, you will encounter different enemies, spells, and most importantly, different loot - each time, another opportunity to show your best!

Tons of Content

Pick 2 out of 3 playable characters and march on! Each character is unique and has over a dozen learnable spells (which you can get randomly, by the way), so each run will make you adapt your strategy to your spell and item options as you battle your way to the Tile shards! The game includes:

3 playable classes, each with a unique set of spells Over 35 distinct monsters 11 uniquely designed bosses Over 100 items and passive treasures

All these make for tons of different strategies and maps to discover as you go, and even more secrets, Easter eggs and special interactions wait around every corner!

Nagnus Will Remember That.

Buy upgrades? Pff. Where do you think you are, the underworld?
You unlock upgrades by doing specific things inside the game! How about finding the blacksmith’s lost tools to unlock free equipment every run? Or try beating the lord of hell himself for a permanent power boon! There are loads of upgrades that persist from run to run, and they are all beautifully integrated into the gameplay and story!

A big fan of turn-based here, so with that in mind, I have to say I really like this one: - It is more challenging than most, you will find yourself back at the start pretty quickly if you misplay, but it is rarely unfair - It involves almost no randomness during combats, so you can never blame the RNG God for that - Actually one of the few stories that keep me intrigued, and funny bits of humor here and there - Gives you a general idea of what your opponents can do, and their weaknesses, but you will have to pay close attention and learn about them from each failed run to succeed in future ones. (spoiler: you can defeat any number of ghosts without losing hp, even if on paper and for the newbie adventurer they might seem like the strongest normal creature in the game) - Enough items and spells so that no 2 runs are similar, but if you like a specific skill you can probably get it most times - It is a roguelike, so you won't straight up get better in future runs, but you will unlock new encounters, items, spells, and as mentioned above, you will know your enemies better and you will get better at playing your classes The developer works closely with the player base on Discord to q…

Update 8/18/22: Still game breaking bugs. Using the item "book" in combat always crashes the game. The sleep realm you go to can get stuck on a loop and have crashes that impedes all progress making you start again, losing any perm upgrades/story.. such as not being able to avoid a "camp (fire)" which makes you enter, which restarts castle which... etc. I like the game, but it's SO buggy and they don't seem to be taking the major bugs as seriously. Very active.. but this stuff is extremely ridiculous for a "full release". Seriously.. by now I should be able to do ONE EFFIN' RUN w/o a crash/total restart. ------------------------------- Update: There's a game-breaking bug (crash every time a turn is passed; no way around it). Hopefully it is fixed. I do not understand why this game is not EA. I've ran into a few game breaking ones now. It's a really fun game and the dev is totally working on stuff; highly responsive. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hell yea. I loved the demo. Buying the game is totally worth it. I have a few gripes (not being able to replace skills is dumb and counter to the feel of the game - there's a long way to go and some early stuff isn't very useful, sometimes even hind…

The atmosphere is really engaging - a really good relaxing game that is fun and humorous. Recommend trying. DEV is also really present in the community and responds really quick. Fixed my issues really fast.

Game is really fun, but crashes a lot. I can recommend waiting to save yourself some frustration, but once the crashes are fixed this game will be great.

This game is the fruit of passion and it shows. Pros: + funny writing and absurd plot + unexpected enemies and situations + quite challenging, but well balanced + difficulty curve is not too steep + each boss and mini-boss feels unique, even if a tad bit gimmickish at times + bosses can be serious trouble if you don't pay attention + highly replayable because you get a slightly different plot and enemies on each playthrough + items are a joy to find and use because of the variety of effects they have + depth over breath, given that each hero is quite distinct from the others and allows for interesting combos and synergies + works well with proton, as long as you don't try to force it to full screen Cons: - takes a bit to have a big enough party / enough items with effects that you get to have more diverse choices in combat, because while using a single hero you are mainly stuck on "who to attack first?" - because the combat is slow and there are many encounters, starting back again after getting your party whipped can feel quite slow Bonus: * sh*t ton of easter eggs

https://youtu.be/YqRCXkVAVAc Got my head caved in by a giant pumpkin and that really spiced up my day. Here's all the positives: Turn-based, Rogue-Like, RPG, Graphics, Characters, Enemies, Pick Your own Path, Puns Now to the negatives: Some bugs and it's not in your library right now There's a lot of ways you can spend $12 USD right now, but you don't need to see that movie for a fourth time and it's starting to get red and chaffed. Take a break from all that action and get ready for some of this action. Highly Recommended!
