You are Precinct Inspector Carola, part of the infrastructure of the Secret Police in the nation of Staven. Born in the shadow of communist revolution and war, your upbringing has been marked with abandonment, isolation, and self-repression.
As if possessed by a miracle, you soon find your way to the capitalist Five Republics... before finding yourself tangled in a conspiracy involving federal police, leftist terror cells, and an imperialist proxy war in the nation of Cosagoria. Is there any escape from the cycle of paranoia, betrayal, and political ruin? Spoiler alert!!!!! - Original story but it’s flawed early on because the main character is impersonating a doppelgänger, early on she meets the double’s mother, a parent would know from mannerisms, speech, small tells that this was not in fact her daughter, maybe not immediately but something would be off and that’s why I thought it was preposterous and gave up, harsh perhaps but these games/stories are subjective. She may have been rumbled eventually by the mother but I couldn’t get past this glaring mistake hence stopping. Whether or not this comes back to scupper her plans it just seemed implausible and that this would happen in some shape or form to her eventually so why would she pursue it knowing it was doomed to failure or if she didn’t I/we would be waiting for the hammer to fall imminently or if she got away with it then it’s guilty of being so completely unrealistic. She’s portrayed as an intelligent intelligence officer so she would have reached the same conclusions. All outcomes led me to the same outcome , namely to swerve, shame as there’s a good story in there somewhere or at least the potential of something with the subject matter and characters but not in this…
