This game is perfect. But, I'll be honestly...I don't think it's an otome! It's a romantic spy thriller/drama, with emphasis on the drama. This is why I don't think it's an otome (spoilers for romance outcome):
Lillian doesn't end up with anyone, because thematically, there's no way for any of them to end up together with their jobs/careers and with the current time period.
Plus, the binary choices in the game change the outcome/path of the story instead of progress Lillian's romantic connection with the guys - she does that on her own in the story! Nothing that we choose panders to the men, it instead decides which man is the one in the story more, and, to be honest, even if you choose to talk to Anton,
he basically leaves partway through his own route and Emile returns to the spotlight.
I noted some reviews say the game prefers Emile, I would say that it doesn't. The game has its own plot and as Emile and Lillian must do the mission together, it's more likely that he will be there. Whole review: mild spoilers for character behaviour. Here's my ending preference:
Anton 1 (go on the date), Emile 1 (Don't talk to Herbert in the Lob…3 found this helpful
Love & Country, developed and published by Guhuhu Games LLC, is a historical visual novel that intertwines espionage, romance, and political tension within the volatile landscape of World War I. Set in 1916 at the height of the Great War, the story follows Lillian Sinclair, a young American woman recruited into French intelligence. Rather than placing players on the battlefield, the game explores the shadowy world behind the front lines—where secrets, shifting loyalties, and moral ambiguity shape the course of events just as powerfully as gunfire. Lillian serves as the emotional and narrative anchor of the experience. Intelligent yet inexperienced in fieldwork, she is assigned her first major mission: infiltrate enemy territory to assist in the extraction of a compromised agent. What begins as a straightforward objective gradually becomes layered with personal stakes. The dangers she faces are not limited to physical threats; she must also navigate complicated alliances, assess the trustworthiness of those around her, and reconcile her growing feelings with her duty. Her development from uncertain recruit to capable operative forms the backbone of the story. The romantic dimensio…2 found this helpful
if i have to pay again for every chapter release i will be pissed off, and this review will instantly go negative. its already borderline, but not because of the usual reasons [too short, poorly written, nonsensical, rushed... this story isnt guilty of any of that.] it is well written, the plot is okay, the romance is a nice snack. there is zero smut. there are also zero happy endings. the 'good' endings are putting your career [what career??] ahead of your ...yearnings. an amicable 'goodbye forever' is a good ending, i guess, question mark. if this was the entire story, and not just the first chapter, id say 'hard pass' and take my money back. as it is... i guess ill have to wait and see.1 found this helpful

WOW
The romance is so good, I really enjoyed how the main routes went. This otome hurt me though, I didn't know there weren't any happy endings. The story and romance is written so incredibly well, but those endings killed my heart....
