Tony Hawk's™ Pro Skater™ 1 + 2

Perfect remaster of one of my favorite childhood games. Awesome music, great graphics, and tons of fun.

Tony Hawk has always been in my top five series in gaming. These games are just so fun and satisfying. They don't concern themselves with being cinematic masterpieces and simply have some of the best gameplay with infinite replayability. This version takes the beloved parks and gameplay of the first 2 games and brings them into the modern era. In my opinion, this is the definitive way to play THPS 1 and 2. Some will disagree, but it's hard to deny the improvements VV made over the originals. THPS 1 and 2 will always have a special place in my heart, especially the nostalgia of the classic graphics; but this is a much smoother and accessible experience.

A good but not perfect remake. The classic maps are essentially untouched, with only updated textures to make things look more modern. Sometimes the grittiness of the new textures muddied the scene and made it hard to find certain objectives because everything in view was the same grungy brown color, but overall the game looks much better. The gameplay updates are very welcome, since the first THPS games were severely lacking in the combo building moves that make the later games so deep and rewarding. The added goals are also welcome since they raise the difficulty ceiling, though I wish they were easier to find in the interface. Speaking of which, all of the extraneous stuff outside of the gameplay is excessive and distracts from the actual game. I don't really know why there had to be levels or experience or other character customization stuff beyond what the original games had. Also, THPS 3 should have been in this game since it's mechanically more similar to these than THPS 4, but oh well.

When i bought this i could play it. however now it does not work i am stuck on infinite loading screen when trying to do anything. Good times playing this on Playstation back in the day but this version is not it. Save your money.
