About Total Tank Generals

EVERY WAR HAS ITS GENERALS
Total Tank Generals needs you! Take command of an army during World War II and lead them to victory. Strategize your way through many scenarios and real historical military campaigns of past generals - such as Patton, Zhukov, and Rommel.

The game welcomes novice strategy players with its user-friendly mechanics, but also offers deep, strategic turn-based gameplay for seasoned veterans or those looking for a challenge!

New Extended Rommel Campaign available to play now!

A new campaign is available for those Generals looking for their next challenge! This update is separate to the original Rommel campaign and gives a greater in-depth look at Rommel’s battles. There will be new objectives, victory and defeat conditions, and AI improvements making this Total Tank General’s most challenging campaign! All the original Rommel battles have been reworked and four new additional scenarios have been added: Operation Crusader (1941), Battle of Mersa Matruh (1942), 1st Battle of El-Alamein (1942), and the Battle for Caen (1944).

MAIN FEATURES:

EVERY DECISION MATTERS:

Decide how to compose your forces from dozens of unit options, carefully position and manoeuvre them on the battlefield to take advantage of the terrain, encircling and breaking enemy units.

Choose when to expend your ammo on all out assaults with no regard to combat losses and when to wait, replenish your supplies and ambush the enemy. If all else fails, call in air support to conduct recon missions, paradrops, or full-on bombardment.

EVERY UNIT MATTERS:

Total Tank Generals features an innovative way of stacking units and mixing their features and abilities. This makes it unique amongst other strategy games, adding an additional tactical layer to deciding how best to array your units for battle.

Every army has its own selection of units to fill all battlefield roles and let you forge your own razor-sharp fighting force. Your units’ in-game statistics reflect the strengths and weaknesses of their historical counterparts fighting in various theatres of WWII.

EVERY DETAIL MATTERS:

Immerse yourself in the history of the largest military conflict to date and follow in the footsteps of the greatest military leaders across multiple continents and battles.

Presenting war from the perspective of the most famous generals of WWII, Total Tank Generals offers a strong historical approach for both casual strategy gamers and hardcore WWII enthusiasts. All of this is delivered in an entertaining and comprehensible package depicting historical events in a realistic documentary-like manner.

EVERY IDEA MATTERS:

Total Tank Generals offers extensive support for modding and map-making with Steam Workshop. The map editor offers easy and intuitive creation of new campaign missions and standalone scenarios to share with the community.

Modding support allows for easy tweaks to stats and mechanics, adding new units, or even changing visuals to create whole new universes to explore in game.

Total Tank Generals, developed by Noobz From Poland and published by 505 Games, is a turn-based strategy game that wears its influences openly while trying to refine them into a more streamlined and approachable experience. Rooted in the traditions of classic hex-based war games, it places players in command of World War II forces under the leadership of well-known generals, but it avoids overwhelming complexity in favor of clarity and steady tactical engagement. The result is a game that feels familiar almost immediately, yet still manages to introduce enough variation to keep its systems engaging over the course of a campaign. The foundation of the gameplay is built on hex-grid maps where every movement and action carries weight. Units operate within clearly defined limits, and each turn becomes a careful exercise in positioning, timing, and resource allocation. Combat is presented through probability previews, allowing players to assess potential outcomes before committing to an attack. This system reinforces deliberate decision-making, encouraging players to think several steps ahead rather than relying on reactive play. Terrain plays a significant role in shaping engagements,…

this is hands down the hardest game ive ever played. however it is very good tho the rng is brutal. u can lose 4 to 5 units in one turn when theres under 15 of ur units on the map,, if theres a lesson to be learned in some situations other than bad roll.. i havent figured it out yet, even good position and the initiative may not even combat a bad dice roll. but i can say its good enough that ive yet to win a mission outside the demo yet lol and im still playing it

The game has a lot of potential. I enjoyed playing for a few hours. The good things are: You can stack up to three units in one tile and attack simultaneously, in contrast to Panzer Corps 2 and most other such turn bazed puzzle games. Also some units can choose two or three hex tiles. You can choose between normal attack and assault. Now the downsides: The AI heals its unity almost every turn, and you can also heal your troops for free (no ressource costs, like prestige or manpower!). This means you have to wipe out an enemy or they will heal for free the next turn, Also, your own units heal automatically when they level up. This turns this game from a war game to an RPG, more like diablo or whatever. The AI also spams a lot of units. Healing should be limited for you and the AI, should be costly in terms of time and ressources and should depend on some kind of supply line, like in hex of steel. And no "level up healing and resupplying." AI: The AI always attacks with artillery last, after trying to assault your position. This shows how badly written the AI is, because this would be the most easy fix: Hard Code that Arty shoots first. Not even this simple decision rule was implem…

Lots of fun! Challenging to say the least! Excellent super intuitive editor, just wish there were more unit types. Still, its excellent! This game has loads of potential but I'm really enjoying it as it is. Hight recommend!
