Fun gameplay and a very cute art direction ! Would recommend to anyone who likes chill puzzle games (and trains!!)

This game rules ! It's a very satisfying gameplay loop, puzzles are great all the way through, and they nicely exploit each of the main mechanics. And what a joy it is to try your solution in one go and see it unfold without killing off the funny little train guy. It's well worth the buy, I highly recommend playing it ! Can't wait to see what the studio will be up to next as well :)

Trackastrophe is a pathfinding train puzzle game that brings a lot more tactical strategy to the table than its casual aesthetic lets on. The core loop is built around a fun cartoon art style where you draft directional rails on a grid map to safely guide your engine to its destination node. One of the strongest pros of the experience is how well it handles the ramping of its puzzle mechanics. It transitions smoothly from introductory, easy layouts into genuinely tough brain-teasers, and it even offers extra bonus levels for players who want to test their spatial planning. The game gives you a decent hint system if you get stuck, and finally pulling the throttle lever to watch your solution play out feels incredibly smart and rewarding. Plus, you get a neat little custom menu where you can change up your train with different colors and goofy hat unlocks. But here is where the bad stuff comes in. The biggest potential con is the overall length, as seasoned puzzle players might find that the campaign runs a bit on the shorter side if you just sprint straight through it. Trackastrophe! is a delightful puzzle game that manages to be both relaxing and challenging. Building railway tracks across colorful environments. Each new area introduces fresh mechanics that keep the gameplay interesting. With over 100 levels… The difficulty curve is well-balanced. The cozy atmosphere, cute train customization options, and helpful hint system make it easy to lose ‘track’ of time while playing.

I'm not a huge puzzle game person - but this one got its hooks into me. It is so satisfying hearing the train toot away after you find the path. The hint system works really well and overall really enjoying my time with it.
